Ceiling alarm 360°
with remote control
Item no. 75 10 41
Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
The product is intended to be used as an independent door or room monitoring system. An inbuilt PIR motion
detector detects heat changes in the detection range (e.g. if a person moves in the detection range) and then
triggers an alarm sound. The ceiling alarm's surveillance function can be turned on and off remotely using
the enclosed infrared remote control.
Any use other than described above may damage the product, there may also be other dangers. Observe all
the safety instructions in these operating instructions.
Read these operating instructions completely and carefully as they contain very important information about
installation, operation and handling. Observe all safety instructions!

General information on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct, when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay attention to
plus/+ and minus/-).
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets. If
swallowed, consult a doctor immediately, it could be fatal!
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, dismantled or thrown into a fi re.
There is a risk of fi re and explosion!
• Do not attempt to recharge conventional batteries, there is a risk of fi re and explosion! Only charge re-
chargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• Old or fl at batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the device. If not it is not to be used for a
while (e.g. storage), remove the inserted batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid burns; there-
fore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Only use batteries/rechargeable batteries of the correct size and the recommended type.
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Never mix normal batteries with rechargeable batteries.
Inserting / replacing batteries
a) Ceiling alarm
The ceiling alarm is powered by 4 batteries, type "Baby/C". Alternatively, you may also use rechargeable bat-
teries. However, please bear in mind that due to the lower output voltage and lower capacity, the operating
time of the ceiling alarm will be reduced.
Therefore, we recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries in order to ensure long-lasting and
reliable operation.
If you choose to use rechargeable batteries, we recommend you use NiMH batteries with low self-discharge.
If the alarm siren is very quiet, or the light from the LEDs in the ceiling alarm is very weak, or the LEDs do
not light up at all, the batteries need replacing.
Proceed as follows to insert/replace the batteries:
www.conrad.com
• If the ceiling alarm is already installed, removed it by pushing it sideways from the mounting plate.
• Open the battery compartment on the ceiling alarm's bottom and insert 4 batteries, type "Baby/C", with the
correct polarity (pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
Version 07/11
• Close the battery compartment again and attach the ceiling alarm to the mounting plate. Check that the
ceiling alarm is secured tightly on the mounting plate.
b) IR remote control
On delivery, the IR remote control already has a battery inserted (nominal voltage 12 V, type "23 A"). This
battery is very long-lasting. Should you notice that the red transmission LED only shines dimly, or not at all,
when you press the key on the IR remote control, the battery needs replacing.
Proceed as follows to replace the battery:
• Remove the screw on the bottom of the IR remote control.
• Carefully separate both parts of the case from one another.
• Replace the battery (type "23A") with a new one. Pay attention to the correct polarity (paying attention to
plus/+ and minus/-).
• Press both parts of the case together so the two retaining lugs on the front lock into place. Finally, screw
on the bottom of the case again.
Operating with external power supply unit
The ceiling alarm may also be operated using an external power
supply unit (not enclosed, ordered separately). For this purpose,
you will fi nd a low voltage socket for a round plug on the side of
the ceiling alarm.
☞
A suitable wall plug transformer has the following characteristics:
• 9 V/DC stabilised output voltage
• Output current of at least 200 mA
• Low voltage round plug, outside-Ø 5.5 mm, inside-Ø 2.1 mm
• Polarity of the round plug: outer contact = plus /+, inner contact = minus/-

PIR sensor features
The PIR motion detector responds to temperature changes within the detection range, e.g. if a person with a
different temperature to the detection area enters the detection area.
The detection angle is 360°, the detection range
depends on the installation height.
Due to the cone-shaped detection area, and at an
installation height of approx. 2.5 m, you will obtain a
diameter of 6 m on the fl oor.
Installing the ceiling alarm
Choose the location for installation carefully so the PIR mo-
tion detector will be triggered correctly.
An ideal installation height is about 2.5 to 3 m.
Place the ceiling alarm, e.g. in your apartment's entrance
area behind the entrance door.
☞
• Remove the mounting plate from the bottom of the ceiling alarm and mount it at a suitable place on the
ceiling. Use appropriate screws and plugs.
• If you have not yet done so, insert the batteries into the battery compartment of the ceiling alarm.
• Attach the ceiling alarm to the mounting plate. The retaining lugs on the mounting plate must be located
inside the ceiling alarm's case.
Move the ceiling alarm on the mounting plate and until it locks fi rmly in place.
If you are using a power supply unit for the operation, the inserted batteries act as a backup in
the event of a power failure.
Take care you pay attention to the correct polarity and the correct output voltage of the power
supply unit used, otherwise you may damage the ceiling alarm with the loss of warranty!
A ceiling alarm with integrated PIR motion detector must not be installed directly above ovens,
fan heaters, air conditioning systems or radiators.
Furthermore, avoid direct strong sunlight, draughts or proximity to powerful light sources and
fans.
We recommend placing the ceiling alarm so the red plastic cover faces the entrance area. The
IR receiver is located behind the red plastic cover. This position ensures that you will be able to
turn off the ceiling alarm using the IR remote control when entering the room.
Make sure there is no object in the transmission path between the IR remote control and the
ceiling alarm, since this will make IR transmission impossible.
Important!
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cable or pipes are damaged!
