.4. FLOW SWITCH
We advise the installation of a flow switch in the
following cases :
- filtration pump situated above the water
level (risk of shutting-off)
- by-pass installation of the chamber.
Operating principle :
if the flow is interrupted accidentally or during a
backwash and whenever the water flow-rate is less
than 2.9 m3/h, the detector will cut chlorine production.
Installation : see above diagram.
Fit the pipe saddle (50 or 63 to be specified) which
must be placed in front of the electrolysis chamber,
preferably on a section of horizontal pipe. Position
the arrow on the head of the detector in the direction
of the water flow. Connect to the electrolysis box.
NEVER
INSTALL THE
DOWNWARD FLOW.
A badly positioned detector will halt chlorine production
and indicate the fault by displaying a flashing 99.
.5. INSTALLATION OF THE EARTH ELECTRODE
We recommend the installation of this electrode so
as to detect the residual currents present in the
water.
Installation : see above diagram.
Install the pipe saddle (50 or 63 to be specified) as
close as possible to the outlet of the filtration pump.
Install the earth rod.
Connect the earth electrode using a 16 mm2 braid
(minimum).
.6. SWITCHING ON YOUR EQUIPMENT AND
SETTING CHLORINE PRODUCTION
A- Switch ON and set production to the maximum,
letting the filtration run 24h/24 until the required
chlorine content is reached (minimum 0.5 ppm).
B- Switch the filtration to automatic and check the
chlorine content regularly.
C- Adjust the setting if the desired chlorine rate is
exceeded.

.7. SELF-CLEANING AND PROGRAMMING
OF THE REVERSAL CYCLE
The default factory setting of the electrode
self-cleaning is every four hours, but this may be
changed according to the hardness of the water
(TH).
The minimum setting is 1 hour and the maximum is
99 hours.
For example :
recommended setting according to water hardness
< 15° F
between 15 and 25° F
between 25 and 35° F
between 35 and 45° F
> 45° F
These recommendations are only given as an
example : do not hesitate to adjust these settings if
you see a furring-up of the electrodes.
To adjust the setting, proceed as follows :
Press + key as you switch on the device, then wait
for 10 seconds. The device indicates a (certain)
value. Release the key, then enter the new value
with + or - keys. The device will take into account the
new parametering after 10 seconds and will start to
work again automatically at the same time.
BETWEEN EACH CHANGE OF POLARITY THE
BOX SHOWS 00 AND THE + AND - INDICATORS
LIGHT UP FOR AROUND TWO MINUTES.
.8. SHELTERED POOLS OR THOSE FITTED
WITH A COVER
If swimming-pool water is not exposed to UV rays,
then the chlorine content may become excessive
and therefore corrosive.
You should lower the production of your salt
chlorinator considerably when the pool is covered.
If you're automatic cover has a relay, it is
recommended that you connect it to the "Cover"
terminal on the electronic card. This relay must
remain closed when the pool is covered.
An indicator shows that a closed cover has been
detected and automatically reduces production by
half.
.9. CHLORINE ANALYSIS METHOD
The analysis should be made at approximately the
same time and the same place (at a point equidistant
between the backflow and the skimmer). The
chlorine produced by your salt chlorinator is very
volatile and the reading of its content may vary
according to different parameters (UV, number of
bathers, orga- nic matter, etc.).
