Dear Customer,
Before using the appliance, please read the
following instructions carefully and keep this
manual for future reference. Th e appliance
must only be used by persons familiar with
these instructions.
Connection to the mains supply
Th e appliance should only be connected to an
earthed socket installed in accordance with
the regulations.
Make
sure
that
corresponds with the voltage marked on the
rating label. Th is product complies with all
binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions
 Before the appliance is used, the main
body including the power cord as well as
any attachment fi tted should be checked
thoroughly for any defects. Should the
appliance, for instance, have been dropped
onto a hard surface, it must no longer be

used: even invisible damage may have
adverse eff ects on the operational safety of
the appliance.
 Th e power cord should be regularly
examined for any signs of damage. In the
event of such damage being found, the
appliance must no longer be used.
 Caution: Do not remove the water fi ll lid
or the fi lter holder during operation.
 Always set the rotary control to 'Off –
Release' before removing the water fi ll
lid or the fi lter holder; place a suitable
container under the steam nozzle.
 Caution: Th e glass carafe, fi lter holder
and steam tube heat up during operation.
 Caution: Always keep your hands well
away from the outlet openings (boiler
outlet, fi lter holder, steam nozzle) during
operation: danger of scalding.
 Do not open the steam nozzle unless
a suitable container has been placed
underneath. Caution: Th ere is a danger
of scalding from hot steam being emitted.
 Before the espresso maker is switched on,
ensure that the appliance has been fi lled
with water, and that the fi lter holder, glass
carafe and drip tray have been correctly
fi tted.
 During operation, the appliance must
be placed on a level, non-slip surface,
impervious to splashes and stains.
 Th e power cord must be kept well away
from hot parts of the appliance.
 Do not leave the espresso maker
unattended while in use. Do not position
the appliance on or near hot surfaces,
open fl ames or infl ammable vapours.
 Th is appliance may be used by children
(at least 8 years of age) provided they have
been given supervision or instruction
concerning the use of the appliance and
fully understand all dangers and safety
precautions involved. Children must not
be permitted to carry out any cleaning
or maintenance work on the appliance
unless they are supervised and at least 8
years of age. Th e appliance and its power
cord must be kept well away from children
