5. EXPLANATION OF SYMBOLS

complies with the
EC directives
6. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 SECURING THE CABLE
The red battery snap connector must be attached to the positive cable,
and the blue battery snap connector to the negative or earth cable. The
poles of batteries with DIN poles have different diameters. This ensures
that they cannot be used incorrectly.
Strip 25 mm of the insulation from the end of the connection cable, see Figure 1. If pos-
sible, use a wire end ferrule to protect the leads of the connection cable and to make a
secure connection. Loosen the screws of the clamp on the battery snap connector. Insert
the stripped end of the cable into the clamp, and tighten the screws. Make sure that the
cable is not twisted.
6.2 ATTACHING THE BATTERY SNAP CONNECTORS TO THE BATTERY
Remove any dirt and corrosion residue from the battery poles.
Open the battery snap connector by lifting up the plastic caps, see Figure 2.
Attach the battery snap connector to the battery pole Figure 3.
Press down the plastic caps to close the battery snap connector, see Figure 4.
The battery is now firmly attached to the connection cable, Figure 5.
Before driving, check that the battery snap connector has been attached
firmly and securely.
6.3 SEPARATING THE BATTERY FROM THE CONNECTION CABLE
To separate the connection cable from the battery, repeat the steps in Point 6.2 in reverse.
6.4 ATTACHING A JUMP LEAD
If jump-starting is required, lift up the plastic caps of the battery snap connectors so
that the jump lead can be clamped to the metal parts of the battery snap connectors,
see Figure 6.
After jump-starting, check that the battery snap connectors are correctly
positioned on the battery terminals, and close them again.
7. MAINTENANCE AND CARE
7.1 MAINTENANCE
Regularly check the tightness of the battery snap connectors on the battery poles and the fixed cable connection..
7.2 CARE
Only clean the battery snap connectors with a dry cloth, and do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or solvents. Immediately clean any battery
acid splashes, to prevent damage to metal parts.
8. NOTES REGARDING ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Do not dispose of electrical devices with the household waste! Electrical and electronic scrap must be collected separately and dis-
posed of in an environmentally responsible manner for recycling. Please contact your community or city administration regarding
disposal options for electrical and electronic scrap.
