Appendix 6: Replacing the Hard Drive
Installing the New Hard Drive
To install the new hard drive:
1. Position the new drive on the mounting posts and
firmly replace the four screws at the center of the
plate.
2. Reconnect the power and data cables—each cable
can only connect one way.Make sure that the cable is
securely connected within the system and to the hard
drive.
3. Carefully replace the plate and mounted hard drive.
Make sure you do not pinch or cut any cables when
replacind the drive.
4. Firmly replace the four screws to the four corners of
the plate.
5. Replace the mounting stand to the rear panel of the
system.
Formatting the Hard Drive
You must format the new hard drive prior to recording.
If a new hard drive is detected, the system will prompt you to format the drive. If you do not
format the hard drive, it will not function properly with the system.
Note: If you format the hard drive to use in your system, it can no longer be used in a PC.

The hard drive sits on four short posts. Line up
the posts to the holes on the new hard drive.
Firmly reconnect the power and data cables.
