Appendix 6: Replacing the Hard Drive
The system comes with a pre-installed, security grade, SATA hard drive. You can expand your
system's storage capacity by replacing the built-in HDD with a larger SATA hard drive.
Note: Before changing the hard drive, make sure to power off the system by disconnecting the
power cable from the system.
Removing the Installed Hard Drive
To remove the installed hard drive:
1. Remove the mounting stand from the rear panel of the
system.
2. Remove the four corner screws from the plate on the
back of the system. DO NOT remove the four screws
in the centre of the plate at this time.
3. Carefully remove the plate and mounted hard drive to
reveal the hard drive cables.
4. Disconnect the power and data cables from the hard
drive.
5. Unscrew the hard drive from the mounting plate (keep
these four screws to attach the new drive). Observe
that the drive actually sits on four short mounting
posts.
Appendix 6: Replacing the Hard Drive
Remove the mounting stand.
Remove the screws at the four corners of the plate
on the rear panel of the system.
Remove the plate, but be careful not to damage
the power and data cables.
