IX. Regular maintenance
1) Check regularly that dirt has not accumulated on the evaporator (pollen, earth, grass clippings, insects,
etc). Clean it if necessary:
- shut down and unplug the machine,
- spray it with soft water (high pressure cleaners should not be used, these could deform the fins)
- clean the fins using a soft bristle brush
2) Depending on how often the evaporator needs to be cleaned, have the bottom of the machine cleaned
regularly by a professional to prevent any deposition from interring with the flow of condensates.
3) Inspect the fan vanes regularly to ensure that they are not dirty or damaged.
4) Have the pressure of the heat transfer fluid and the electrical connections checked once a year by a
professional
5) Cleaning the machine casing
The machine casing can be cleaned using soapy water and a soft cloth. Never use abrasive products or
organic solvents.
X. Winterizing
1) Stop the heat pump
If the heat pump is in a heating phase, shut it down.
Nota Bene:
Never shut the heat pump down during, or just after, the thermodynamic defrosting cycle. This could create
problems when restarting the heat pump at the beginning of the following season (successive triggering of the
HP alarm before the heat pump starts correctly).
Unplug the extension cord, roll it up and leave it to one side.
Trip the circuit breaker in the control panel.
2) Drain the heat exchanger
Close the by-pass valves to isolate the machine hydraulically.
Unscrew the upper union and then the lower union: the heat exchanger drains by gravity. It is extremely
important to drain the machine during the winter season, otherwise the stagnant water within the
machine could freeze causing irreperable damage to the internal components such as the titanium
heat exchanger, the flow switch, etc.
3) Cover the machine with its wintering jacket (accessory available as an option)
