360° motion detector with a potential-free contact for surface mounting
Fitting and operating instructions
1. USE
The motion detector 350-41549 complete with potential-free contact is suitable for controlling HVAC, Niko
Home Control... The device has a 360° detection angle, 4 adjustable sensitivity levels and works on the basis
of Passive infrared (PIR) technology.
It is possible to set both the switch-off delay of the potential-free relay and the sensitivity of the detector on
the device using the DIP switches.
The motion detector is for indoor use.
Areas of application:
• corridors
• offices
• school premises
• conference premises
• canteens
• exhibition premises
• storage areas
• production premises
2. INSTALLATION
2.1. Assembly area
The motion detector responds to heat and movement within its environment. Avoid placing near heat sources
such as ovens, electrical radiators, ventilation systems or mobile ceiling decoration... These can all cause
unwanted activation of the motion detector (fig. 1).
2.2. Mounting height and range
Mount the motion detector at the recommended mounting height of 2 to 3 m. 2.5 m is the optimal installation
height. At this height the detector has a detection range of a 7 m diameter (fig. 2).
The motion detector is designed for installing directly onto ceilings (fig. 3).
2.3. Connecting the detector
Connect the detector as shown in the wiring diagram (fig. 4a).
When connecting motion detectors in parallel, please consult fig. 4b.
3. OPERATION
General
After connection to the power supply, the motion detector is ready for operation after about a 1 sec. warm-up period.
Both the switch-off delay of the potential-free relay and the sensitivity of the detector can be set on the device
using the DIP switch. For more information on the use of the DIP switch, see '4. DIP switch'.
You can test the detection zones using the built-in walking test.
Select 'test' using the DIP switch. During this test the LED and connected lighting light up each time the motion
detector detects movement.
Factory setting (fig. 5):
• Sensitivity: High sensitivity
• Switch-off delay: 300 sec.
• LED movement indication (walking test): Off
