Important Safety Information

Please read the following safety precautions and instruction manual before operating
the P-Vac aspirating system.
Do not overfill the receiving flask, or bottle! Doing so will introduce liquid into the
filter and if continued, into the instrument housing. Should accidental contamination
of the filter occur, replace the filter immediately to avoid further contamination.
Should liquid pass through the filter, into the housing, contact Argos Technologies
for assistance.
WARNING! Reference Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), wear essential
protective equipment and adhere to all applicable local and national regulations
before dispensing, using and/or disposing of hazardous substances.
WARNING! This product does not contain bio-seals or venting to a hood nor
does it provide any level of containment. When working with hazardous or volatile
substances or biohazardous agents, always place the P-Vac within a laminar flow
cabinet.
CAUTION! When working with hazardous substances, you must comply with
your laboratory regulations, trade association regulations, health authorities and
supervisory offices.
CAUTION! Do not aspirate fluids into the P-Vac. The P-Vac contains a safety
filter which will stop fluid from reaching internal mechanisms. If fluid or foam gets
into the filter, the filter must be changed immediately or the unit may not provide
vacuum. Note: The hydrophobic filter holds back aqueous solutions; whereas
retention of apolar liquid is limited.
WARNING! If the unit is not used as recommended by the manufacturer, the
overall safety will be impaired.
