Using the drive (secure mode)

If you use the drive registered with a wireless key, you need to perform the
following steps each time you connect the USB cable to the personal
computer. Furthermore, these steps may be necessary in case of any of the
following (depending on your personal computer):
• When restarting the personal computer
• When returning from hibernation
• When returning from sleep mode

Turn on the personal computer and connect the USB cable
(page 12).
The LOCK indicator lights and the blue light of the wireless key
receiver flashes.

Tips
If you do not use the hard disk drive for more than about 8 seconds, while the blue
light of the wireless key receiver flashes, the hard disk drive turns off. In this case,
disconnect the USB cable and reconnect it.

Touch the wireless key receiver with either registered
wireless key.
The UNLOCK indicator lights and the drive is recognized by the
personal computer.
Note
The blue light may flash after recognizing the drive on some personal computers
when returning from hibernation mode or restarting. In this case, touch the wireless
key receiver with the wireless key again.
