SECTION 3. INSTALLATION
RÉCEPTION ET INSPECTION DU MATÉRIEL :
À la réception du matériel, inspecter l'emballage du chauffe-piscine pour y relever des signes de dommage, ensuite vérifiez attentivement le
chauffe-piscine afin de détecter tout dommage survenu durant le transport ou la fabrication de celui-ci. Si le carton est endommagé, veuillez
le mentionner au transporteur immédiatement afin qu'il le note sur le connaissement. Toute réclamation pour dommage ou matériel
manquant doit être faite au transporteur.
Avis important : Les instructions contenues aux présentes sont destinées à être utilisées par un technicien compétent, ayant reçu
une formation spéciale et expérimenté dans l'installation de ce type de chauffe-piscine. Certaines provinces exigent que les
personnes procédant à ce type d'installation soient titulaires d'un permis à cet effet. Si c'est le cas, assurez-vous que le technicien
est en possession du dit permis avant qu'il ne puisse procéder à l'installation.
MISE EN GARDE
Le non-respect des instructions relatives à l'installation de cet appareil, de l'évent et des instructions de service contenues dans ce
manuel peut entraîner la mort ou des lésions corporelles et/ou des dommages matériels sérieux.
CONFORMITÉ AUX CODES :
Le chauffe-piscine sera installé conformément à tous les codes locaux et provinciaux. L'installation de cet appareil ainsi que la dimension du
tuyau de fumée, son installation et sa terminaison devront se conformer aux normes suivantes :
CAN/CSA-B140.12-03, CAN/CSA-B365-M, CAN/CSA-B366.1-M91 et CAN/CSA-B415.1.
Ce chauffe-piscine peut être installé :
À l'extérieur seulement avec une évacuation par un tuyau de cheminée à parois simple de 15 cm (6") :
POSITIONNEMENT DU CHAUFFE-PISCINE À L'EXTÉRIEUR :
Cet appareil doit être installé sur une dalle de béton ou autre sol non combustible (voir illustration 5) à au moins 150 cm (60") de la paroi
intérieure d'une piscine creusée à moins qu'il ne soit séparé de la piscine par une clôture solide, un mur ou autre barrière solide permanente.
Cet appareil doit être installé à au moins 150 cm (60") de la paroi d'une piscine non creusée. Il doit aussi être éloigné de 150 cm (60")
minimum de la réserve de bois, de 150 cm (60") de toute bâtisse et de 150 cm (60") de tout arbre. Le tuyau de cheminée fourni de 15 cm (6")
de diamètre doit avoir une longueur minimum 244 cm (96") et d'un maximum de 366 cm (144" = 3 longueurs de 48" fournis et
recommandé par le manufacturier) tel que montré à l'illustration 4. L'installateur a la responsabilité de prévenir les accumulations d'eau
autour de l'appareil, et ce, à longueur d'année. Prévoir un drainage adéquat et/ou en surélevant la dalle sur laquelle le chauffe-piscine est
déposé de 20 cm (8") par rapport au sol environnant. Ne pas l'installer à un endroit où le gel ou le dégel pourrait causer son renversement ou
rompre ou forcer la tuyauterie.

Entrée et sortie d'eau 3,8 cm (1-½")
DALLE OU SOL NON COMBUSTIBLE :
À l'extérieur, le chauffe-piscine de série Bilovax LS-50 doit être installé sur une dalle de béton ou autre sol non combustible. Il peut aussi
être installé sur d'autres types de sol à condition que ceux-ci soient protégés par une maçonnerie creuse d'au moins 10 cm (4") d'épaisseur et
recouverts d'une tôle zinguée de calibre 24 minimum. Cette maçonnerie doit être posée avec les extrémités non scellées et les joints assortis
pour assurer une libre circulation de l'air au travers de la dalle. La maçonnerie doit faire saillie d'au moins 30 cm (12") sur tous les côtés de
l'appareil. Dans tous les cas, il incombe à l'installateur de protéger le sol et de s'assurer que le sol n'est pas exposé à une chaleur excessive
durant les périodes prolongées d'utilisation.

LOCATION OF POOL-HEATER:
1. It must be installed preferably on a concrete base at a minimum distance of 1.50 m (5 ') of all combustible materials.
2. The L.S. Bilodeau pool-heater is designed to be installed outdoors only.
3. For a safe and quiet operation, the heater must be level. The pool-heater flue pipe should be as straight as possible.
CONNECTING:
Install the heater so that the entire flow of water of the filtration system passes through the walls of the pool-heater. No valve shall be
installed so as to create a pressure or vacuum in the unit. This would damage the inner walls of the pool-heater. The water outlet of your sand
filter must be connected to the water inlet under the pool-heater. The water outlet (hot) above the pool-heater must be returned to the pool
through usual lines.
N.B. All the water flowing through the filtration system must pass entirely through the pool-heater.
During the heating season, it is possible that the pool-heater creates condensation which will drain under the unit. Such will be noticed when
the water is very cold.
WATER PIPES TESTING AND LEAK INSPECTIONS:
Start the pool filter pump and open the relief valve to purge the air from the pool-heater. Once the heater is purged of the air through the
relief valve and filled with water, check that all connections are tight and that water does not flow or oozes from the joints between the
device and the water inlet and outlet pipes. For leaks, be sure to correct them before proceeding to other tests.
SECTION 5. WOOD HEATING
Only use solid wood as fuel
Always use dry wood for better efficiency and less chance of soiling of the device. If you do not want to extend the heating cycle
beyond three hours, just let the heater go out by itself.
Dry hard wood logs with a maximum length of 18 inches or less (46 cm) is recommended.
FIRING INSTRUCTIONS:
Before lighting the pool-heater, make sure the filter pump is running and that there is no air in the unit. You can purge the air from the unit
by gently pulling on the stem of the pressure relief valve. If air comes out, wait until a little water comes out before releasing the valve stem.
Open the loading door and inspect the combustion chamber making sure that there is no ash in the background and that the combustion air
nozzles are not blocked and clean. It is not recommended to use newspaper for ignition, because it can clog the spark arrestor. It is
recommended to use ignition briquettes instead.
Arrange the ignition briquettes in the bottom and cover with ignition wood and a quantity of firewood to fill half the combustion chamber.
During ignition, put the wood to the back of the pool-heater. Then proceed to the lighting of the ignition briquettes and maintain the
loading door slightly open. Make sure the fire is well taken before you close the loading door. After an hour, you can carefully open the
loading door and complete the loading of the combustion chamber up to the top to allow a heating cycle up to three hours depending on the
type of wood used and its humidity rate.
With subsequent loading, spread the embers evenly to the back of the combustion chamber and place the wood at the most rearward as
possible. It is important to respect this mode of loading so that the wood burns like a cigarette from the front to the back of the pool-heater.
N.B. This pool-heater CAN NOT be heated without the operation of the water pump of your filtration system.
DO NOT use any device timer to turn off the water pump.

Do not use flammable liquids or chemicals to start the fire. failure to observe this warning can cause explosion and / or
fire causing death or bodily harm and / or property damage.
