OPERATING ThE TOOL

AIR SUPPLY

Power source (Compressor)
ƒ Use only clean, dry, regulated compressed air as a power
source for this tool.
ƒ Never use oxygen or other bottled gases, as an explosion
may occur.
ƒ Air compressors used to supply compressed air to this tool
must comply with the requirements of the latest version of
ANSI Standard B 19.3 Safety Standard for Compressors for
Process Industries.
ƒ Moisture or oil in the air compressor may accelerate wear
and corrosion in the tool.
ƒ Drain daily.

OPERATING PRESSURE

Recommended operating pressure is 70 to 110psi / 5 to 7.5
kgs.
ƒ Maximum permissible operating pressure is 150psi. Select
the operating pressure within this range for the best fastener
performance. The fastener length and thickness and
hardness of the wood are factors in determining what the
pressure should be set at.
ƒ Do not exceed this recommended operating pressure.
ƒ Moisture or oil in the air compressor may accelerate wear
and corrosion in the tool.
ƒ Drain daily.
ƒ Tools shall not be connected to pressure that potentially
exceeds 175psi or 12 kgs.

LUBRICATION

It is important that the tool be properly lubricated.
Without proper lubrication, the tool will not work properly and
parts will wear prematurely.
ƒ Use INTERCHANGE pneumatic tool lubricant. Do not use
detergent oil or additives. These lubricants will harm the
O-rings and other rubber parts. This will cause the tool to
malfunction.
ƒ Filter-regulator-lubricator units should always be used. Keep
the lubricator filled with INTERCHANGE pneumatic tool
lubricant.
ƒ If a lubricator is not available, supply 3 to 5 drops of
INTERCHANGE pneumatic tool lubricant into the air plug on
the tool twice a day.
