SANDING
See Figure 8, page 10.
Install the detail sanding backing pad and attach desired
sandpaper. Hold tool in front and away from you, keeping it
clear of the workpiece. Start the tool and let the motor build
to its maximum speed, then gradually lower on the work with
a slight forward movement. Move the tool slowly over work-
piece using forward and backward or side to side strokes.
Upon completion of sanding operation, always remove tool
from workpiece before turning it off.
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other part could create a hazard or cause
product damage.

OPERATION
Do no t fo rce. The weight of the unit supplies adequate
pressure, so let the sandpaper and tool do the work. Apply-
ing additional pressure only slows the motor, rapidly wears
sandpaper, and greatly reduces tool speed. Excessive pres-
sure will overload the motor causing possible damage from
motor overheating and can result in inferior work. Any finish
or resin on wood may soften from the frictional heat. Do not
allow sanding on one spot too long as tool's rapid action
may remove too much material, making the surface uneven.

MAINTENANCE

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and can be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
