6 Using the application tool

CAUTION
There is a risk of injury when pulling the trigger and tightening the cable tie, or when using unsuitable
cable ties.
f Always use safety glasses during work.
f When pulling the trigger, make sure that no limbs are between the trigger and handle.
f When working above head level, attach a safety cord to the hanging loop at the bottom of the handle.
f Use only HellermannTyton stainless steel cable ties.
f Apply a cable tie around the cable bundle
f Pull the strap end

f Tighten the cable tie by hand so that the cable tie rests tightly against the cable bundle.
f Push the open end of the nose piece
f Place the front of the nose piece at a right angle and flush to the head of the cable tie.
f Keep pressing the trigger

7 Tension force

The tension force that the application tool uses to pull on the cable tie can be set using the
adjustment dial

The minimum tensile strength is the force that the cable tie can withstand before it deforms or
tears (see cable tie technical specifications).
