• Loads may only be lifted on one side. Do not lift to
the fullest extent of the jack (Fig. 4.2).

• Do not carry out work below the lifted load. If working
underneath the load is unavoidable, the load must
always be safely supported in addition by suitable
means.
Furthermore, close the release valve fully before
starting the work beneath the load and check its
function.
• Never leave the load unsupervised in a suspended
state without additional support.
• Never take hold of moving parts.
• Use only hydraulic oils specified in chapter 6.6 The
use of other hydraulic oils is prohibited as it could
lead to damage to the hydraulic jack.

5. Description of operation

• Hydraulic jacks are hand-operated hydraulic lifting
devices.
• Hydraulic pressure is applied on the load piston via a
pump piston.
• A non-return valve prevents inadvertent lowering of
the load.
• The hydraulic system is protected against overload by
a built-in pressure relief valve.
• The load can be lowered in a controlled manner by
means of a release valve.
• The jack can be deployed so that the load can be borne
by the head or the claw. The foot claw is designed to
lift loads on one side only for stability reasons.
• The foot claw can rotate through 360°. 360° rotation
of the claw and/or the base plate guarantees optimum
positioning of the jack (Fig. 5.2).
