Harmful vapours
CAUTION! Health risk due to outgassing
!
and vapours during heating operation!
During heating of waxes and investmentmaterials
wax vapours and ammonium can accumulate in the
vicinity of the laboratory furnace.
Therefore:
• Take care of sufficient ventilation or vapour
extraction to outdoors.
• Use vapour extractor DG2 or extraction hood
DU1 - DU3/3 with outdoor air exhaust.
• Use catalyst KN1 or KN2.
Hot surfaces
CAUTION!
!
Risk of burns due to hot surfaces!
Contact with hot components may cause burns.
Therefore:
• During all work close to hot components
strictly wear protective occupational clothing
and protective gloves.
• Before any work starts make sure that all compo-
nents have cooled down to ambient temperature.
Hot workpieces
WARNING! Risk of burns due to hot
!
workpieces!
Workpieces reach high temperatures during proces-
sing and may cause burns on contact. Therefore:
• Before handling workpieces check if these are
hot. If necessary leave to cool.
• Handle hot workpieces only with tongs.
Mineral fibres
The heat insulation of the furnace contains parts
made from aluminium silicate fibre. This fibre is
declared a „carcinogen substance according to
category 2 according EU-directive 97/69/EU" accor-
ding to EU-classification from 05.12.1997.
In the case of strong and extended dust exposure
diseases of the lungs and the pleura such as fibrosis
and cancer may be provoked as results from animal
experiments show. Theses results are not confirmed
through examinations in humans. Health risks are
not to be expected if the recommended use and the
applicable threshold values are observed.

2.6 Measures in case of hazards
and accidents
– Preventive measures
• Always be prepared for accidents and fire!
• Keep first aid equipment (first aid kit, blankets,
etc.) and fire extinguisher at hand.
• Familiarise personnel with accident reporting,
first aid and rescue provisions.
• Clear access roads for rescue vehicles.
– Measures in case of accidents
• Activate emergency stop immediately.
• Initiate first aid measures.
• Evacuate persons from the danger area.
• Inform the responsible person on site.
• Call rescue services.
• Clear access roads for rescue vehicles.
2.7 Labelling
The following symbols and labels are installed on the
outside of the furnace housing:
WARNING!
!
Risk of burns due to illegible symbols!
With time labels and plates may become soiled or
unrecognisable. Therefore:
• Keep all safety and operation labels in a well
readable condition.
• Replace damaged plates and labels immediately.
Warning note "Hot surface"
(at the FINOFORNO furnace door)
Hot surface are not always perceivable. Leave to
cool respectively wear protective gloves before
handling.
Warning note
"Electric current"
at the furnace cable duct.
