CAUTION:
• To avoid excessive wear on blade head and
motor, clean the blade head regularly and apply
oil to the appropriate points (See "Cleaning and
care" on page 29).
• Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning prod-
ucts to clean the appliance.
• In view of the many different care and cleaning
products used in hairdressing salons, we cannot
rule out the possibility that the rubber feet under
the charging unit may be affected by one of these
products and may leave traces where the unit has
been standing.

2 Preparation

2.1 Charging

The appliance as supplied is not yet ready for oper-
ation.
Before plugging in the Contura, make sure that the
mains voltage agrees with the voltage specified on
the rating plate.
The appliance should be charged for 2 hours be-
fore being used for the first time.
It is not possible to "overcharge" the appliance.
NOTE:
If your salon uses the previous model as well as the
new Contura:
– You can also recharge the new trimmer in the
older charging unit. It will however take 16 hours
to charge up fully.
– You can recharge the old trimmer in the new
charging unit. The charging time is 16 hours.
