External Error Detection (EED)

Function of the EED
 The EED module can be connected to a central heating
boiler with a UBA-control.
 The EED module displays a fault message in the event
of boiler malfunction.
 The EED module also provides the option of transmitting
an external signal by means of a potential-free port
(make-and-break contact) in the event of that the appli-
ance malfunctions and in case of a power failure.
 The EED module does not react to malfunctions in
external controls connected to the boiler.
 The EED module can be connected to one boiler.
Switch SI "Lock" and "No Lock" (see figure 1)
In the "No Lock" position, a fault message is only displayed
in the event of a malfunction in the locking mechanism.
The display on the boiler will flash. This can be reset with
the UBA reset button.
The EED module will display a fault message in the
"Lock" position in the event:
– of a malfunction in the locking mechanism. This can be
reset by means of the UBA reset button.
– that the boiler is not activated within two hours of a heat
demand. This malfunction can be reset with the EED
reset button. The UBA reset does not influence this.
– that the boiler is blocked five times during these two
hours.This malfunction can also be reset with the EED
reset button.
