VTLAN1 -- LAN-TESTER for RJ-45, RJ-12,
1. Characteristics
The VTLAN1 is used to test network cables equipped with the following connector types : RJ-45,
shielded and keyed RJ-45 connectors, RJ-12, RJ-12/DEC, RJ-11, RJ-10 and BNC connectors.
It is used for testing open, shorted, crossed, reversed, transposed, split and non-pair wiring.
The device is powered by a 9VDC-battery. The remote box enables the user to test LAN-cables
with a max. length of 1000ft (± 300m). The VTLAN1 can test grounding. The housing of the
receiver contains 1 spare battery and two 6-to-4 inserts.
REMARK : Do not use the VTLAN1 in active networks.
2. Use
The user should only take the remote box into account, as the master serves only 1 purpose :
the transmission of signals to the 9 wires in a fixed order (1, 2, 3, etc.). The receiver shows the
signals sent by the transmitter. The LEDs will light according to the connections of the wires.

1. Kenmerken
De VTLAN1 wordt gebruikt om netwerkkabels te testen die zijn uitgerust met connectors van de
volgende types : RJ-45, afgeschermde en "keyed" RJ-45 connectors, RJ-12, RJ-12/DEC, RJ-
11, RJ-10 en BNC connectors.
Het toestel wordt gebruikt voor het testen van onderbroken, kortgesloten, gekruiste,
omgekeerde, "transposed", "split" en "non-pair" bedrading. Voeding : 9VDC-batterij.
Met de zender kunt u LAN-kabels testen met een max. lengte van ± 300m.
U kunt ook aarding testen met de VTLAN1. De behuizing van de ontvanger bevat 1
reservebatterij en 2 adapterstukjes voor 6- en 4-aderige connectors.
OPMERKING : Gebruik de VTLAN1 nooit in actieve netwerken !
2. Gebruik
U moet enkel rekening houden met de zender. De centrale eenheid ("master") zorgt nl. enkel
voor de transmissie van signalen naar de 9 draden en dit in een vaste volgorde (1, 2, 3, enz.).
