PS-W
Portable Scoreboard - Wrestling
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS
POWER SUPPLY
If adopting the mains power supply, use the
adapter (100-240 Vac) supplied.
If battery power operated, use the optional 12V
battery (art. 828). The average duration of the
battery is from 8 to 10 hours. It is a good idea to
recharge it after use with the special battery
charger (art. 169): do not leave the battery
uncharged since it causes deterioration.
FUNCTIONING
PS-W is ideal for Greco-Roman, Freestyle and
Female Wrestling contests. It is also indicated
for training with Action/Pause sequences.
Turning on and off
Turn on and off with the "ON-OFF" key. When
turned off, the phrase [OFF] remains on the
console display, indicating the presence of the
power supply.
With the purpose of checking the sound, the
acoustic signal will activate after 3 seconds of
keeping the "ON-OFF" key held down.
Visualization
All of the indications visualized on the score-
board also appear on the console display
situated behind the scoreboard.
Start of a new Contest
To begin the new Contest, press the "NEW
Contest" key. This will cause the zeroing of all
display information and, if the programmed
parameter "Period+1" = "Automatic", the
chronometer will be automatically set with the
value of the last Timer (GR, A, B) used.
Loading the Chronometer
Each of the 4 "Load" keys allows for the chrono
meter to be loaded with the corresponding time
defined in programming.
The times indicated in the 4 keys (1m30s+30s)
(2m) (1m30s) (30s) are default times whose
values, however, can be programmed (see
PROGRAMMING chapter).
Please note that the type of Timer activated,
and its total duration in seconds, is indicated on
the LCD display to the right of the time. For
example, after having pressed the "Load Timer-
A", the digits "A=120s" will appear, indicating
that Timer A is activated and has a duration of
120 seconds.
The "Load Timer-GR" key is a special timer for
Greco-Roman Wrestling. The time count stops
automatically at 1min30sec and then, by
pressing the "StartStopTime" key, restarts from
1min30sec for another 30 seconds. In order to
abide by the rule that prohibits the chronometer
from being stopped at 1min30sec if a"danger
position" is present, the operator should (when
the counter gets close to 1min30sec) keep the
"Load Timer-GR" (=Danger position) pressed
down for the entire time in which the athlete is
in a "danger position", and release it as soon as
he/she is no longer in a "danger position". In
this way, if at the end of 1min30sec the "load
Timer-GR" key is still in the pressed down
position, then the time count will not be
automatically stopped and counting will
continue up until 2 minutes.
"Load Timer-A" and "Load Timer-B" keys are
used for Freestyle Wrestling or Female
Wrestling with the purpose of loading 2min or
1min30sec respectively.
The "Load Time-C" key is useful to load the
chronometer with an extra 30seconds.
Starting and stopping the chronometer
The "START STOP
_
stop, or restart the time count.
When the time count is stopped, the 2
separation points minutes/seconds light up
continuously, otherwise they keep on flashing.
At the end of the time programmed, a special
acoustic signal is emitted.
Assignment of Scores
With the keys "+1" and "+2" the scores are
increased by the amount indicated on the keys
pressed.
With the key "-1" the score is decreased by one
unit. The last athlete to whom points were
assigned will be indicated on the LCD display by
the symbols < >.
Assignment of Cautions
With the "AV" key it is possible to turn on the
three luminous points corresponding to the three
Cautions, following a certain sequence. If the
key is pressed a fourth time, all 3 are turned off.
On the LCD display the number of Cautions is
indicated by a digit.
