Gaskets and leaks
Change-over Valves are always designed as metal-to-metal seated valves.
They are sealed against the atmosphere by means of an adjustable packing
gland installed between the seat and the disc at the actuator side, and by flat
gaskets installed between the body sections. If the seatings are damaged, the
Change-over Valve may no longer be tight. Therefore, the seatings must be
inspected regularly by the operator.
To detect leaks between the seat and the disc, mount a check gauge in the
elbows (see chapter „4.5 Spül- und Manometeranschluss" auf Seite 12). To
