HOW TO TAKE A TURKISH BATH
The steam bath, generally known as the Turkish bath, belongs to the same ancient tradition of purifying baths
to which the sauna also traces its roots.
When the steam content in an environment is greater than the quantity of water in the epidermis, a layer of
moisture forms on the skin warming up the body. The combined action of the steam and the controlled heat
assists the blood and lymph circulation system, dissolving toxins and favouring their expulsion.
It is up to you to decide when the time is right to take a Turkish bath.
To reap the maximum benefits from your Turkish bath, approach it in a calm frame of mind and the positive
effects of the heat will do your cardiovascular system the world of good.
Inside the cubicle you need to be free of all encumbrances, naked or, at most wrapped in some comfortable
towelling or other natural fibres. Little by little you will begin to breathe more slowly and evenly, feeling a
growing sense of inner calm: surrender to it and relax.
After your Turkish bath it is nice to experience the tonic effect of the outside temperature for a little while, or
have a cool shower or sponge-down.
Your body temperature will adjust and you will experience a pleasant sensation of freshness and wellbeing.
Relax and enjoy a few minutes of utter calm then go back for a second session in your Turkish bath after which
it will be time to relax once more and maybe have a little nap. You will awake a new person.
The natural position to adopt in your Turkish bath is sitting down or semi-reclining. Rubbing your skin gently
with a horsehair glove will get rid of dead cells and stimulate the blood circulation. We recommend refreshing
yourself from time to time with a sprinkling of cool water and you can enhance the steam with a few drops of
essential oils.
How long you stay inside your Hammam/Turkish bath will depend on how your body feels, on average it is
from 10 to 15 minutes.
BENEFITS
The toning and relaxing properties of a steam bath have been found to be one of the best therapies for
combating all the stress and anxiety we have to suffer in our everyday life. It is also one of the most pleasant
ways of improving your looks and toning up your body.
The heat opens up the pores to facilitate steam penetration and helps the skin to get rid of impurities, giving
it a healthy glow and making it softer and more supple.
Suitable for all ages, a Turkish bath is an excellent way of regulating blood pressure and a priceless preventative
and therapeutic treatment for respiratory ailments.

AQUASTEAM MAXI, EASYSTEAM
It is better not to take a Turkish bath on an empty or too full stomach and therefore
heavy food and alcohol should be avoided.
Get ready to enter your Turkish bath by taking a warm shower to open the pores of the
skin and facilitate muscle relaxation. Dry yourself well to promote sweating.
Your feet should be nice and warm, so take a foot bath if necessary.
