bulbs (7) out of the packaging and insert them on the bases. Slip both safety clamps over the
UV-C fluorescent bulbs until they snap into the clips.
Insert the profile seal (9) into the recess provided, making sure it fits properly. Make sure
the profile seal is not soiled and that the guide is free from dirt particles. Insert the UV-C
fluorescent bulbs mounted on the electric unit into the quartz glass inserts. The point where
the cable enters and the recess on the edge of the electric unit must be oriented downwards.
Close the large closing clips so that the electric unit is connected to the casing and relock the
safety lock by turning 90° clockwise.

Changing the UV-C fluorescent bulbs
Unlock the safety lock on both of the large closing clips (3) by turning 90° counter-clockwise
with a flat screwdriver. Open both of the large closing clips (3), thereby disconnecting the
electric unit (4) from the casing. Pull the electric unit off of the casing until both of the UV-C
fluorescent bulbs have come completely out of the quartz glass inserts (5). Caution: Fragile.
Remove the two clamp mountings (6) by pressing the lateral mounts to remove them from
the base and pull them off of the UV-C bulbs. Remove the UV-C fluorescent bulbs by pulling
them out of the bases carefully. Please follow the instructions in Section
fluorescent bulbs prior to use for inserting new UV-C fluorescent bulbs (7) and mounting.
Please check the quartz glass inserts (5) for impurities prior to inserting the new UV-C fluore-
scent bulbs. The following section describes how to clean the quartz glass inserts.

How to clean the quartz glass inserts
In order to clean the quartz glass inserts (5), disconnect the JBL AquaCristal UV-C Water Cla-
rifier from the pump circuit by removing the union nut (14) on the stepped hose nozzles (10,
11). Let all of the water flow out of the casing (1) by holding the water purifier at a slant.
Remove the electric unit (4) with the UV-C bulbs from the casing as described in Section
Unscrew the 8 screws (20) completely. Make sure not to lose nuts that have been unscrewed
from the guides. Carefully pull the quartz glass retaining plate (21) from the casing by the
two lateral bulges. Now you can disconnect the quartz glass inserts by removing the union
nut from the quartz glass retaining plate.
You can use a microfibre cloth (JBL WishWash) with JBL Clean A to clean the quartz glass
inserts quickly and reliably. Make sure to rinse the quartz glass inserts thoroughly with clear
water afterwards.
Please use the reverse order for mounting. Check the O-rings on the quartz glass inserts (22)
for cleanliness and intactness. When changing the O-rings, lubricate them with some Vaseli-
ne. Make sure the parts are intact and that the casing seal (8) fits properly.
