INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE CONDITIONS
YOUR PRODUCT CAN ONLY BE INSTALLED OUTDOOR
This appliance is not connected to an exhaustion stroke: it has to be installed and connected in compliance with the relevant Installation
Rules. Especially respect the Regulations concerning aeration (NF/EN/10239.3)
-
The minimum air inlet necessary to a proper combustion is 15 m
-
Horizontal distance between the appliance and the adjacent walls shall not be less than 55 mm on both sides and at the back
Installation and maintenance of this appliance have to be carried out by a skilled person in accordance with the relevant regulations, in
particular:
- Norm DTU P45 204 (NF P 45-204) – Gas installation (former DTU n° 61-1 Gas installation - April 1982 + add n° 1 July 1984).
- Sanitary regulations.
- Gas regulations on board:
- NF/EN 10239, March 2001
- ISO/DIS 9094-1.2
- Guideline 94/25/CE from European Parliament and Council dated June 16th, 1994.
CAREFUL:
- USE ONLY OUTSIDE THE PREMISES.
- Accessible parts can be very warm, keep young children away.
- It may be dangerous to modify any part of the product.
- Do not move the product.
- The protected parts must not be touched by user when item is still warm.
- The bowl must be handled when the product is cold.
- Wait until it is cold before cleaning.
- Turn off the gas supply at the gas cylinder after use.
- Do not modify the appliance.
- We advise to use 3 to 13 kg cylinders (Butane or Propane) along with a safe regulator.
- Do not use adjustable regulator
- The length of flexible hose between product and gas tank must not exceed 1,50 m.
- When installing the Antigua, avoid bending or twisting the flexible tube and keeping it away from hot parts.
- Always make sure that the whole flexible tube is easy to reach and to inspect. The whole connection assembly must be controlled at
regular intervals.
- Any deterioration of one of these elements "regulator, flexible tube, valve" implies the immediate replacement of the faulty unit.
III.
HOW TO INSTALL THE UNIT (Drawing. 1)
The build in Plancha can be installed in 2 different ways on a worktop liable to resist without any damage a temperature of 90°C and
providing a rectangular surface as shown on the drawing. The minimum height of the build-in casing shall not be less than 130 mm. Should
then keep a 24 mm gap between the bottom of the appliance and the horizontal surface. Should another appliance be installed above, the
minimum 24 mm distance has to be kept and the top of this appliance has to stand a continuous 90°C temperature without any damage.A
minimum 55 mm space has to be kept between the edges of the hole and the adjacent vertical walls. Any dimension (in mm) shown on the
drawing has to be observed.
It is necessary to respect the openings inside the box for the proper functioning of the device: 78 cm² min.
The built-in Plancha has to be fixed to the worktop with the fastening brackets supplied with the appliance as shown on the drawing.
Depending on worktop thickness, fastening brackets have to be fixed in a different way as shown on the drawing. Use the screws for wood to
fasten the metal brackets under the worktop.
Make sure that the sealing joint has been compressed enough to be efficient. If not, insert the washers between the lower part of the worktop
and the metal brackets to put it in compression. Make sure not to distorse the fixing plate: this could lead to a dysfunction or even a
dangerous operation of the appliance.
For your safety, we remind you that Plancha is for outdoor use. We also recommend not to store any flammable liquid or vapors next to
the product. While in operation, it must be kept away from flammable materials.
In case you notice a gas smell, you have to shut the valve of gas cylinder. When not using the Plancha, shut as well the valve of gas
cylinder

Assembly : regulator and flexible tube
I3+
- Regulator especially designed for marine use. "Do not use in a closed room"
- Make sure that the rubber seal at the regulator inlet connection has been set properly and is in good condition. Screw and tighten the
I3B/P
regulator wing-nut on the gas cylinder or on the special tap fitted on 3 kg gas cylinders or on the "CLIP-ON" device for 6 kg gas cylinders.
- A complete check up of the whole installation has to be carried out punctually.
- In case of deterioration, the complete assembly "regulator, rubber tube and valve" has to be replaced.
- To ensure a proper setting up, avoid to twist or curve the rubber tube.
- Tightness control(control has to be carried out according to the regulations in force: Norm NF / EN 10239.3 Part 10)
Before activating the whole installation with LPG, always make sure that setting up has been carried out properly (from the regulator up to
the burners in "OFF" position.). The shut-off valves being opened, test the whole installation – before fixing the regulator on the rubber tube
– with an air pressure equal to three times service pressure; anyway, testing pressure shall never exceed 150 mbar. The whole connection has
Jet size
to be considered as tight if after a five-minute period (this should enable pressure to get balanced) pressure remains constant ± 5 mbar during
67
the 15 following minutes. A suitable fluid such as soapy water can be used to detect any possible leak on the connection parts.
80
CAUTION: Do not use any detergent liable to contain ammoniac: this would damage brass connection parts. Although the damage is
not obvious from the beginning, fissures and leaks may appear a few months later.
DANGER: never use a naked flame to check tightness.Changing containers must never be undertaken in the presence of a naked flame.
After having tested pressure on the whole installation, every single connected appliance – including burners FFD – has to be tested in
operation. A visual control of the flame height on the burners has to be carried out while all burners are being operated in order to make sure
that the service pressure is suitable for each appliance.
V.
BEFORE USE
- Check tightness, if you notice a leakage, shut gas inlet
- Make sure that hose or flexible tube is not in contact with parts of the appliance that may become warm.
- Open the lid while operating the plancha
- When using your plancha for the very first time, let the empty plancha operate for 15 minutes. (A light smell can be noticed for a while).
- The bowl to receive juices must be handled only when cold.
- Before you start cooking, let the plancha preheat during 10 minutes (Knobs on large flame).
VI.
IGNITING YOUR PLANCHA
The burner is operated by a safety valve with FFD, fitted with an operating knob and an ignitor. The mark on the knob shows valve position.
- Open butane or propane gas cylinder.
- Your plancha is fitted with a locking valve in off position (clearly marked with a full disk) providing total security.
- Press the knob and turn it to the large flame symbol.
- Activate the ignitor: a click can be heard and a sparkle ignites the burner. Keep the knob pressed in for 10 seconds to action the safety
device, then release. Check that burner is well ignited, mist will appear on the lid.
- Should the burner not stay alight, repeat operation. Then adjust the length of the flame by rotating the knob towards the small flame symbol
- OFF position: rotate the knob towards off position (full disk)
VII. MAINTENANCE OF YOUR PLANCHA
WARM PLANCHA: scrape food scraps with a wooden or a stainless steel spatula to the draining bowl (Do not use any plastic or Teflon
spatula). Deglaze your Plancha with water or white vinegar to cut odors when cooking different foodstuffs.
COLD PLANCHA: clean with a wet sponge and dishwashing liquid (avoid corrosive materials), then carefully dry.
When no longer using your Plancha, close the lid – once the appliance is cold.
Regularly check the hose. Do not hesitate to replace it if any doubt. Check validity date.
Do not twist the gas hose and keep it away from any part that might become warm. Take care of it to keep it in good condition.
Each product is being checked all along the manufacturing process.
Should any anomaly occur, please check that the instructions provided in this leaflet have been carefully observed. Please make sure that the
regulator used is suitable for your gas cylinder and the type of gas (butane or propane)
If not used for a long period, check that burner venturi tube is not blocked.
