4 Press the FUNCTION button to
close the Function Menu.
5 Press the DVD recorder's
PREVIEW button to output the
video and audio signals input to
the DVD recorder in step 3 to a
video monitor.
6 The operation check is completed
when the video monitor displays
a normal picture and the sound is
normal.
Note:
If the video monitor does not display
a picture and there is no sound, the
input board has probably not been
properly connected to the DVD
recorder. Set the DVD recorder to
standby, turn off the power and
disconnect the power cord (see Step
18). Then check cable connections
as described in Step 5 and Step 9.
[PRA-BD12 output board operation check]
1 A BNC cable can be used to connect the SDI output connector and AES/EBU output
connectors of the output board installed in the DVD recorder to another component
equipped with SDI and AES/EBU input connectors.
2 Start playback on the DVD recorder. (Consult the section "playing discs" in the DVD
recorder's Operating Instructions.)
3 The operation check is completed when the SDI and AES/EBU video and audio signals
are correctly output to the equipment connected in Step 1.
Note:
If the video monitor does not display a picture and there is no sound, the output board
has probably not been properly connected to the DVD recorder. Set the DVD recorder to
standby, turn off the power and disconnect the power cord (see Step 18). Then check
cable connections as described in Step 5, Step 9 and Step 11 3.
Copyrighted material that includes a signal to prevent unauthorized copying will not display
a picture and produce any sound (the screen remains black and there is no sound).
18. This completes the installation procedure.
1 Press the STANDBY/ON button on the front panel of the DVD recorder, and wait for
the DVD recorder to enter the standby mode.
2 When the DVD recorder enters the standby mode, set the rear panel power switch to
OFF, and remove disconnect the power plug from its AC outlet.
Select "AES/EBU" as [A Input]
on the Function Menu.
