Electrical connections

Please note that electrical connections have to be
made by a qualified electrician in accordance with
the directives of your local electricity supply company
and the VDE standard in force for sauna heaters.
Please note:
Heaters with max. 3.3 kW have to be connected to a
power supply of AC 230V~ in accordance with the
terminal diagram for 3.3 kW heaters.
Heaters with 7.5 kW or 9.0 kW have to be connected
to a power supply of 3/N/PE AC 400 V 50 Hz in

accordance with the terminal diagram for 7.5 kW and
9.0 kW heaters. It is essential for the controller to be
permanently connected to the power supply. The
customer is responsible for installing a disconnecting
device that disconnects all poles from the power
supply at a minimum distance of 3 mm. A plastic
sheathed cable of at least duty class H07RN-F (int.
ID 245 IEC 66) has to be used for this purpose.
It is also important to ensure that all electrical
components such as cables, lamps, etc. are able to
withstand a minimum temperature of +140°C
(silicone versions).
Cable cross sections depend on the heater being
used and are described in the operating manual of
the respective heater. A cable with a cross section of
2.5 mm

should be used for the wall connection to
the controller.
Important note
The neutral conductor (N) of the heater must always
be connected to the sauna controller, otherwise
malfunctions could occur.
The knock-out wire entries on the side are provided
for the auxiliary units HC 10 D and LC 4-25. A
bushing is provided with the auxiliary units in order to
ensure electrical safety.
Connecting the sauna heater
Position the sauna heater in front of the air intake
opening as per the installation and operating
instructions provided by the manufacturer and feed
the silicone cables through the empty cable conduits
up to the controller. Note: If there are no empty cable
conduits inside the sauna, drill a hole next to the air
intake opening and feed the silicone cable along the
outside to the controller through a suitable wiring
conduit or cable duct.
Connect up the stripped individual wires (PE, N, L1,
L2, L3) as shown in the connection diagram.
Connecting the sauna lamp
The sauna lamp has to be splash-proof (IPX4) and
suitable for temperatures of over +140°C.
Make sure that the sauna lamp is never mounted
near the heater but always in the place stipulated by
the sauna manufacturer.
The power cable must also be able to withstand
temperatures of at least 140°C (silicone version).
Connect up the stripped individual wires (PE, N, L1)
as shown in the connection diagram.
