Portable 500 W Audio System
These instructions are intended for users
without any special technical knowledge . Please
read these instructions carefully prior to operat-
ing the unit and keep them for later reference .
1 Operating Elements and
Connections
1 Locking screw on the left and right sides
for the satellite speakers
2 Controls EFFECT to adapt the sound to the
room acoustics, each for channels CH 1 to
CH 3
3 Power and limiter LED
blue = normal mode
red
= maximum undistorted level ex-
ceeded, the limiter will reduce the
volume
4 Input level switches for inputs CH 1 and
CH 2
MIC = for microphones
LINE = for audio units with line output
(e . g . MP3/CD player, radio, mixer)
5 Stereo input jack for channel CH 3 (3 .5 mm
jack); when this jack is connected, the RCA
jacks (13) will be switched off
6 Control SUB to adjust the volume of the
low frequencies that are radiated by the
subwoofer
7 Balance control for the satellite speakers
8 Controls GAIN to adjust the volume of the
corresponding channel
9 Switch CH2 / THRU – MIX OUT for the jacks
OUT (14)
CH2 / THRU = input signal of the jacks CH 2
is available
MIX OUT
= the mixed signal audible via
the speakers is available

(XLR / 6 .3 mm, bal .)
12 Stereo input jacks for channel CH 2

13 Stereo input jacks for channel CH 3 (RCA,
unbal .); these jacks will be switched off
when the 3 .5 mm jack CH 3 (5) is connected

bal .); select the output signal with the
switch CH2 / THRU – MIX OUT (9)
15 Stereo jack LINE IN / OUT (6 .3 mm, unbal .):
input or output for connection of another
active speaker system

18 Mains voltage selection switch;
factory-set to a mains voltage of 220 – 240 V~ .
Never change this switch position!
19 Support for the mains fuse
Always replace a blown fuse by one of the
same type .
20 Mains jack for connection to a socket
(230 V~/50 Hz) via the mains cable supplied
21 Connection for the right satellite speaker

2 Safety Notes

The unit corresponds to all relevant directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains
voltage . Leave servicing to skilled
personnel . Inexpert handling
may result in electric shock .
The unit is suitable for indoor use only . Pro-
tect it against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity as well as extremely
high or low temperatures (admissible ambi-
ent temperature range 0 – 40 °C) .
Do not place any vessels filled with liquid,
e . g . drinking glasses, on the unit .
Immediately disconnect the mains plug from
the mains socket if
1 . the unit or the mains cable is visibly dam-
aged,
2 . a defect might have occurred after the unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3 . malfunctions occur .
In any case the unit must be repaired by
skilled personnel .
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the mains socket, always
seize the plug .
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never
use water or chemicals .
No guarantee claims for the unit and no li-
ability for any resulting personal damage or
material damage will be accepted if the unit
is used for other purposes than originally in-
tended, if it is not correctly connected or op-
erated, or if it is not repaired in an expert way .
If the unit is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harm-
ful to the environment .
