NXAMPmk2 introduction
Welcome to the NXAMPmk2 manual. Please take some time to
read it and learn how to set up the device.
The NXAMPmk2 is a range of four channels powered TDcontrol-
ler developed to perfectly match the NEXO range of speakers.
A TDcontroller is a highly sophisticated audio processing unit,
design to enhance the sonic performances as well as protect
the NEXO speakers. This processor is coupled with four chan-
nels of power amplifier.

Rack installation

The NXAMPmk2 should be mounted into a suitable rack unit,
ensuring both front and rear mounting holes are used in order to
protect the amp from mechanical damage. If the rear side can-
not be fixed with the mounting holes, you can use commercially
available metal fittings on the bottom to support the rear side of
the NXAMPmk2.
Air flow of the NXAMPmk2 is from front to back, thus instal-
lation can mix DTDAMP (with DTD Controller), first generation
NXAMP and NXAMPmk2 in the same rack, all using the same
air flow direction.
Speaker cable choice
WARNING! High voltage can be present on the pow-
er amplifier output terminals. Use at least NEC (National
Electrical Code) UL13 CL3 (under 300V) wiring cable to
connect the NXAMPmk2 to the NEXO speakers.
To minimize power and damping factor losses in speaker cable
use suitable wire gauges from the table bellow.

Audio Input and Output connections
How to integrate into the audio chain?
Place the NXAMPmk2 in the audio chain just before the NEXO
speakers, typically at the output of the mixer or matrix.
The audio inputs of the NXAMPmk2 are connected to the mixer
audio output and the power outputs of the NXAMPmk2 are con-
nected to the NEXO speakers.
WARNING! Unplug the device from mains before
connecting or disconnecting any cable, or external card to it.
Connecting the NXAMPmk2 audio inputs
Use the back panel female XLR3 connectors to connect the bal-
anced analog input signal, typically from an audio mixer output.
To help you connect seamlessly the NXAMPmk2 to your analog
inputs, including metering, a Digital Metering Unit (reference
DMU) is available.
Through the expansion slot located in the middle of the back
panel of the NXAMPmk2, the default network based remote
control card can be replaced by a digital audio input and net-
work remote control card.
At the time of writing, AES/EBU, Ethersound™ and Dante™
digital audio format are supported through expansion boards.
Use STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) cable to prevent electromag-
netic interference. Make sure that the metal parts of the plugs
are electrically connected to the STP cable shield by conductive
tape or comparable means.
