Installation instructions:
Electrical system for towing hitch
14. Unplug the black 12-pin plug from the rear control unit and open the pink latch. Unlock the
following wires and insert them into the provided 4-pin socket housing:
Orange/green wire from section 2 to section 1.

Orange/brown wire from section 8 to section 2.

15. Remove the black 23-pin plug from the rear control unit and open the lilac latch. Unlock the
following wires and insert them into the provided 4-pin socket housing:
Black/blue wire from section 8 to section 3.

Black/red wire from section 6 to section 4.
-
16. Install the single wires from the cable harness with the red 12-pin plug in the free
compartments of the 12- and 22-pin plug, ensuring that the colours match.
17. Push on the latches and fit both plugs back on the control unit.
18. Connect the 4-pin connector assembly and paste a piece of foamed material around it.
19. Lay the red, red/black and red/blue cable along the vehicle' s cable harnesses / ducts to the
fuse carrier at the front right-hand side.
20. Remove the fuse carrier, pull it out and open the pink latch. Insert the following wires into the
respective fuse chamber.
Red wire into chamber 1.

Red/black wire into chamber 3.

Red/blue wire into chamber 5.

21. If the fuse locations 1+3 of the vehicle are not equipped with terminal 30, the provided wire
adapter must be inserted.
Insert the wire ends as follows:
End of the red wire into the still free position of fuse 1.

End of the red/black wire to the still free position of fuse 3.

Insert the pin with double fitting to the free position of fuse 19.
22. Using the 3-pin connector for the constant plus extension kit, the functions "Charge lead" and
"Ground for charge lead" can be retrofitted.
The constant plus extension kit is available from specialist shops under the Westfalia part no.
300 025 300 113.
