Cleaning and maintenance

Cleaning the dust bowl (ig. H, I, J, K, )
Your BLACK+DECKER tool has been designed to operate
over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper care
and regular cleaning
Release the door latch (7) and open the transparent door
u
(5) 180° until it clicks in the open position.
Empty the dust container by lightly shaking over a dustbin
u
Close the transparent door (5) and make sure that it clicks
u
into place.
Cleaning the ilters (ig. L, M, N, O, P,
Q, R, S, T )
Press the bowl release button (8) (ig. L)
u
Rotate bowl (ig. M)
u
Seperate dust bowl from appliance (ig. N).
u
Clean the ilter by rotating 3 times anti-clockwise
u
(ig. O).
Lift the ilter from the dust bowl (ig. P) and brush off any
u
loose dust.
Empty any remaining dust from the dust bowl (ig. Q).
u
Ensure the dust bowl is open (ig. R).
u
Rinse out the dustbowl with warm soapy water (ig. S).
u
Wash the ilters with warm soapy water (ig. T).
u
Make sure the ilters are dry
u
Reit the ilters onto the appliance twisting them clockwise
u
until they lock into place.
Close the dustbowl door. Make sure the release latch (8)
u
clicks into place.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance or cleaning on
the appliance, unplug the appliance.
From time to time wipe the appliance with a damp cloth. Do
not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner. Do not im-
merse the appliance in water
Replacing the ilters
The ilters should be replaced every 6 to 9 months and when-
ever worn or damaged. Replacement ilters are available from
your BLACK+DECKER dealer (cat. no PD10):
Remove the old ilters as described above.

Fit the new ilters as described above.

Protecting the environment

Separate collection. This product must not be
disposed of with normal household waste.
Should you ind one day that your BLACK+DECKER product
needs replacement, or if it is of no further use to you, do not
dispose of it with household waste. Make this product avail-
able for separate collection.
Separate collection of used products and
packaging allows materials to be recycled and
used again.
Re-use of recycled materials helps prevent
environmental pollution and reduces the demand
for raw materials.
Local regulations may provide for separate collection of elec-
trical products from the household, at municipal waste sites or
by the retailer when you purchase a new product.
BLACK+DECKER provides a facility for the collection and re-
cycling of BLACK+DECKER products once they have reached
the end of their working life. To take advantage of this service
please return your product to any authorised repair agent who
will collect them on our behalf.
