1 Descaling
ATTENTION: Only use ZWILLING descaler for descaling the appliance. If other products are
used, ZWILLING will not accept any liability for consequential damage.
Depending on the water hardness, scale accumulates in the appliance. Scale on the heating
elements increases the brewing time and the power consumption and reduces the brewing
temperature, which impairs the taste of the coffee. Descale the coffee machine as soon as the
icon flashes. If descaling is required, the coffee machine will only permit another 10 brewing
cycles in order to prevent damage.
Fill the tank with 1 l of water and descaler in the ratio indicated on the package. Place the
empty glass jug under the filter holder. Turn the button all the way to the left. "CLN" (clean) will
appear. Press the button. The descaling can take up to 15 minutes. Afterwards, the
stop flashing and will be illuminated continually. Clean the tank, the filter holder and the glass
jug with water. Fill the tank with fresh water up to the MAX mark, place the empty glass jug
under the filter holder and start a brewing process without ground coffee and without filter.
