Connect and operate the appliance only in
accordance with the specification on the rating
plate.
If the power cord or appliance is damaged,
do NOT use.
Keep children away from the appliance.
After using the appliance and if the appliance
malfunctions, pull out the plug.
To protect the user, all repairs to the appliance,
e.g. replacement of the power cord, may be
carried out only by our customer service.
Before using your appliance for
the first time
To clean the appliance, run 8 cups of water twice
through the appliance. Occasionally, new
appliances emit a completely harmless odour.
In this case run a diluted vinegar solution through
the appliance (2 cups of vinegar to 6 cups of
water), then run 8 cups of water twice through
the appliance.
Brewing and keeping coffee warm

Fill the tank with water only. Never add milk or
ready drinks such as tea or coffee (the taste will
be altered by the subsequent brewing process).
Use medium to finely ground coffee (we
recommend approx. 6 g per large cup). If there
are fewer cups, add slightly more coffee per cup
than for a larger number of cups. Brew at least
3 large cups, otherwise the coffee will not have
the desired temperature and strength.

The cup heater remains hot for a short period
after the appliance has been switched off.
Allow the coffee maker to cool down for 5 min.
before refilling with water.
Before using the jug, ensure that the lid is closed.
J = approx. 85 ml

Cleaning and Maintenance

All parts which come into contact with coffee
should be cleaned after use. Residue will affect
the taste (Fig. 6).
All detachable parts are dishwasher proof.
However, do NOT place them over the
dishwasher heater or jam them in the dishwasher
(deformation may occur). Wipe the housing
exterior with a damp cloth only.
Do NOT use any scouring agents.
Do NOT use a steam cleaner.

NEVER immerse the appliance in water!
If the jug handle is loose:
Tighten the screw (Fig. 7).
Descaling
Descale the appliance regularly, especially if
- the brewing cycle takes longer than usual,
- excessive steam is produced,
- the appliance is noisier than usual.
Add descaler according to the manufacturer's
instructions and fill the reservoir.
Leave the solution to stand for 5 min., then switch
on. Switch off after 1 min. and leave to stand for
10 min. Repeat at least 3x (or more frequently
depending on calcification). Allow the residual
solution to run through.
Run the maximum quantity of clean water twice
through the appliance.
Thoroughly rinse all detachable parts.
Descaling recommendation
If the water hardness is normal and the appliance
is used daily, descale every 6 weeks. If the
descaling agents which you use are based on
vinegar or citric acid, descale every 3 weeks.
Disposal
Please ask your dealer or inquire at your local
authority about current means of disposal.

The guarantee conditions for this appliance are as
defined by our representative in the country in
which it is sold. Details regarding these conditions
can be obtained from the dealer from whom the
appliance was purchased. The bill of sale or
receipt must be produced when making any
claim under the terms of this guarantee.
