Electrical system for towing hitch
Installing the electrical system
1. Disconnect the ground terminal of the battery.
2. If necessary, remove the following coverings and panels:
•
In the luggage trunk
Covering of luggage trunk bottom

Covering of the left side of the luggage trunk
-
•
Remove the bumpers
•
On the left-hand side of the vehicle
Access strips
-
Lower dashboard covering
-
•
On the rear end plate
Covering of cable leadthrough
-
3. Lay the cable end with the 12-pin plug and the eyelet from the outside through the cable
leadthrough (Fig. 1/7) into the luggage trunk.
4. Insert the rubber grommet into the cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/7).
5. Lay the socket end of the cable set to the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/6).
Installing the socket
6. Press the contact insert into the socket housing and push the rubber grommet towards the
socket.
7. Screw the socket onto the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/6) using the supplied screws and nuts.
8. Secure the cable harness using cable ties.
Connecting the tail lights
9. Lay the cable end with the right-side marking along the rear end plate to the right-hand tail
light (Fig. 1/8).
10. Unplug the plug of the right-hand tail light (Fig. 1/8) and connect it to its counterpart on the
cable harness. Plug the residual plug back into the tail light. Make sure that the plugs lock
firmly into place.
11. Lay the remaining end of the cable harness to the left tail light (Fig. 1/5).
12. Unplug the plug of the left-hand tail light (Fig. 1/5) and connect it to its counterpart on the
cable harness. Plug the residual plug back into the tail light. Make sure that the plugs lock
firmly into place.
