54 Nordforest Mechanical Titan 80 Felling Wedge
In order to check proper functioning of the shaft:

Clamp the Nordforest Titan 80 Mechanical Felling Wedge with its
aluminium housing in a vice.
›
Screw the lifting wedge all the way out to the stop.
The shaft should turn quietly and easily. Loud noises indicate
a defective tapered roller bearing.
In order to check the play of the drive nut:
›
Turn back the shaft two revolutions.
›
Check the play of the drive nut by means of the axial to and fro
motion of the lifting wedge.
If the play is more than 0.8 mm, the drive nut must be replaced by
authorised personnel or by the manufacturer with an original part.
›
Send the tool to the dealer for inspection.

Regular inspect the spring steel plates for damage.
If you identify cracks or material deformations with sharp edges:

Send the tool to the dealer for inspection.

It is important that all turning and sliding parts are correctly and
adequately greased to ensure proper functioning and make operation
easier.
For perfect operation and maximum efficiency, we recommend
the Nordforest Bio Lubricating Grease with especially high shear stability
