7. Location of equipment
Before mounting the camera check the wireless reception from the desired
location.
Observe the following points:
!
The maximum range of the wireless signal is approx. 100m (and up to
200m in optimal conditions) with line of sight contact between transmitter
and receiver. Within buildings the range is greatly reduced by walls and
floors, in particular those made of steel reinforced concrete, to a maximum
of 20m. Metal housings, shelves, mirrors and water masses also block the
wireless signal.
!
If there is no good radio connection between the location of the camera and
the monitor/recorder then the cable between camera and transmitter
and/or receiver and monitor/recorder must be extended. Use a standard
RG59/75 Ohm cable with BNC connections for the video cable. The USB
cable cannot be extended.
!
The wireless range can be extended by coupling two sets of transmitter and
receiver together (wireless repeater function). For example, if a building is
blocking the wireless transmission then two sets can be connected such
that the receiver of the set (camera side) is connected by cable to the
transmitter of the set (monitor side), see Fig E. The same channel can be
used for both sets. The receiver and transmitter which are connected by
cable should be placed minimum 1m apart to avoid interference.
!
The wireless transmission can also be affected by strong electric fields and
other wireless equipment. Ensure an adequate distance of the camera and
receiver to microwave ovens, cordless phones, mobile phones, wireless
devices in the 2.4GHz frequency band, electric motors and high voltage
devices or power cables.
!
The devices must be placed on a solid and level surface or secured using the
supplied screws and, if required, plugs, ideally a minimum of 1m above
the floor (optimal reception). It can be located nearby a TV set or monitor,
however not directly on top of the casing otherwise the reception quality
can be reduced. Locate the devices away from metalic objects and steel
reinforced concrete as these reduce the wireless range.
!
There should be suitable mains outlets in the vicinity.
!
If the devices are installed outside they must be protected by a suitable
casings.
8. Connection of the transmitter
!
Screw the antenna [3] into the antenna connection [2].
!
Connect the video input [8] to the video output of the camera
!
If required, connect the audio input [7] to the audio output of the camera.
If necessary use the adapter [6].
!
Connect the DC-plug of the mains adapter cable [4] to the mains adapter
connection [5] of the transmitter.
!
Connect the mains adapter with a suitable mains outlet.
!
The POWER LED [9] lights green.
26 - GB
9. Connection of the receiver
!
Screw the antenna [14] into the antenna connection [13].
!
Connect the video output [19] to the video input of a monitor or recorder. If
required use the adapter [17]. If required, connect the audio output [18] to
the the audio input of a monitor or recorder.
!
Connect the DC-plug of the mains adapter cable [15] to the mains adapter
connection of the receiver [16].
!
Connect the mains adapter with a suitable mains outlet.
!
The POWER LED [22] lights green
9.1 USB-connection
!
Disconnect the A/V-cinch cable [19/18] and the mains adapter [15] from
the receiver.
!
Connect the USB-cable [24] between the PC and the receiver USB-output
(direct connection, not through a USB-Hub).
10. Operation
!
After connection of the power supplies the set is in operation.
!
Switch on the monitor or TV set
!
Select the AV input corresponding to the connection (on some TV sets this
may be depicted as VCR, channel 0, or with the
receiver is connected through a recorder then select the corresponding AV
channel. You will now see the camera picture and hear the sound from the
camera microphone.
!
The direction of the antennas [3] and [14] can be selected for the best
reception. The recommended position is both antennas vertical.
!
Pull the foil from the battery box of the remote maintenance, in order to
connect the battery already which is already installed. When using the
remote control aim it in the direction of the infrared receiver [20]
11. Basic function

11.1 Wireless connection

The signals from a maximum of 4 transmitters can be received. The transmitter
with the set is programmed in the factory to channel 1. When the connection
between transmitter and receiver is established the connection LEDs [10 and
21] will light red and the camera picture will be visible on the monitor. The
number of the received channel will be visible at the top of the screen.
If no connection is established, the connection LEDs [10 and 21] will not light
and the screen will display the message "NO SIGNAL". In this case search for the
connection on another channel by repeatedly pressing the button [30]. Should
no connection be established move the transmitter and receiver closer together.
If this is still unsuccessful pair the camera and receiver as described in section
12.3.
