SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND REGULATIONS
To ensure optimal working and safety conditions, please
read the following sections carefully
One of the fundamental factors in safety is adherence to
the maintenance frequency (see maintenance table). In
addition, never attempt to carry out repairs or maintenance
operations, if you are lacking experience and/or the tools
required
ELECTROCUTION
During use, generator sets output electrical power.
- Never touch bare cables or disconnected connections.
- Never handle a generator set while your hands or feet
are wet
- Never expose the equipment to liquid projections or
adverse weather conditions or place it on a wet floor. Keep
electrical cables and connections in good condition.
- Using equipment in poor condition may result in electrocu-
tions or damage to the equipment.
- Provide a differential protective device between the gene-
rator set and the equipment is the length of the operating
cable(s) is over 1 metre.
- Use flexible and resistant cables with a rubber sheath, in
compliance with IEC 245-4 or equivalent cables.
- The generator set must not be connected to other power
sources such as the mains network. In specific cases in
which a backup connection to electrical networks is provi-
ded for, it must only be carried out by a qualified electrician,
who must take the functional differences of the equip-
ment into consideration, depending on whether the mains
network or the generator set is used.
- Electric shock protection depends on circuit breakers pro-
vided specially for the generator set. If the circuit breakers
need to be replaced, they must be replaced by a circuit brea-
ker with identical rated values and specifications.
Never fill with fuel when the generator set is in operation or
when the motor is hot.
- Clean all traces of fuel with a clean cloth.
- Petrol is extremely flammable and its fumes are explo-
sive. It is prohibited to smoke, approach a flame or produce
sparks while the tank is being filled.
- Remove any flammable or explosive product (petrol, oil,
cloth, etc.) while the set is operating.
- Always position the generator set on a level, flat and hori-
zontal floor to avoid the fuel from the tank spilling onto the
motor. Oil products must be stored and handled in accor-
dance with legislation.
EXHAUST GAS
The exhaust gas contains a highly toxic substance: carbon
monoxide. This substance can be lethal at an excessive
concentration in the air we breathe. For this reason, always
use your generator set in a well-ventilated place where
gases cannot accumulate.
- In addition, good ventilation is required for the correct
operation of your generator set. Without this ventilation,
the motor would rapidly rise to an excessive temperature
which would cause accidents or damage to the surrounding
equipment or property.
- However, if operation inside a building is required, provide
suitable ventilation such that the people or animals present
are not affected. It is essential to exhaust gases outside.

FIRE
BURNS
- Never touch the motor or the exhaust silencer while the
generator set is in operation or for a few minutes after it
has been shut down.
- Some preservation oils are flammable. In addition, some
are hazardous to inhale. Provide good ventilation. Use a
protective mask for injection.
- Hot oil causes burns. Avoid skin contact with hot oil. Make
sure that the system is not pressurised before any interven-
tion. Never start or run the motor with the oil filling cap
removed, as there is a risk of oil being released.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
- A leaking exhaust silencer may cause an increase in the
noise level of the generator set. To ensure its efficiency, exa-
mine the exhaust silencer regularly.
- Never drain or dispose of oil on the ground, but in a contai-
ner provided for this purpose (petrol stations can retrieve
used oil).
- Take care to prevent, whenever possible, sound reverbe-
ration on the walls or other structures: the volume will be
amplified. If the exhaust silencer of your generator set is not
equipped with a spark arrester and is to be used in wooded,
bushy areas or on unfarmed grassy land, take great care
and ensure that sparks do not cause a fire (clear a relatively
wide area at the site on which your generator set is to be
placed).
GENERAL SAFETY RECOMMANDATIONS
Before use, it is necessary to know how to shut down the
generator immediately and to understand all the controls
and operations perfectly.
- Never allow other people to use the generator set without
giving them the necessary instructions beforehand.
- Never allow a child to touch the generator set, even when
shut down. Avoid running the generator set in the presence
of animals (agitation, fright, etc.).
- Never start up the motor without the air filter or exhaust.
- Never cover the generator set with any material during
operation or just after it has been shut down (wait until the
motor has cooled).
- Never apply a fine coat of oil to the generator set in order
to protect it against rust.
- In any case, observe the applicable local regulations rela-
ting to generator sets before using your own.
TERMS OF USE
Performance details generators are obtained in conditions
in accordance with ISO 8528-1 (2005) reference:
• Total barometric pressure: 100 kPa
• Ambient Air Temperature: 25 ° C (298K)
• Relative Humidity: 30%
Performance generators are reduced by about 4% for each
range of temperature increase of 10 ° and / or about 1% for
each elevation height of 100 m.
