Safety Notes
The unit and the AC /AC adaptor correspond
to the directive for electromagnetic compati-
bility 89/336/EEC. The AC/AC adaptor addi-
tionally corresponds to the low voltage direc-
tive 73/23/EEC.
The AC/AC adaptor uses dangerous mains
voltage (230 V~). To prevent a shock haz-
ard do not open the cabinet. Leave servic-
ing to authorized skilled personnel only.
Furthermore, any guarantee claim expires
if the AC/AC adaptor has been opened.
It is necessary to observe in any case the
following items:
The AC/AC adaptor is suitable for indoor
use only.
Protect the unit and the AC/AC adaptor
against humidity and heat (admissible am-
bient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
Even if the unit is switched off, the AC/AC
adaptor connected to the mains has a low
power consumption.
Do not take the unit into operation or im-
mediately take the AC/AC adaptor out of
the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or AC/AC adaptor
can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a
drop or similar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit resp. the AC/AC adaptor must in
any case be repaired by authorized skilled
personnel.
If the unit or the AC/AC adaptor is used for
purposes other than originally intended, if
it is not connected or operated correctly or
not repaired by authorized skilled person-
nel, there is no liability for possible dam-
age.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth. Do
not use any chemicals or water.
If the unit and the AC/AC adaptor are to be
put out of operation definitively, they must
be disposed of in a local recycling plant.

Applications
The MPA-1002 is a microphone preamplifier
in low noise semiconductor technique to be
used on the stage and in the sound record-
ing studio as well as for home recording and
multimedia applications.
The unit has a balanced XLR microphone
input and a balanced XLR line output. The
amplified microphone signal can additionally
be taken off at a stereo line output or may be
added to a fed-through stereo line signal.
4
Connecting the Unit
The microphone preamplifier should be
switched off if connections to other units are
going to be made resp. changed.
1) The power supply of the microphone pre-
amplifier is either via the provided AC/AC
adaptor (15 V~) or – for the mobile use
of the unit – via four 9 V transistor bat-
teries. The inserted batteries are discon-
nected during power supply via the
AC/AC adaptor.
- For supplying the unit via the AC/AC
adaptor, connect the adaptor to the
jack (9).
