 Remove the plug from the safety socket after each use,
before cleaning and during periods when the appliance is
unattended, making sure that it is switched off first.
 When disconnecting the appliance from the mains supply,
always pull on the plug rather than on the cable/extension
cable.
 Do not kink or crush the mains cable/extension cable. Do
not use the extension cable if it is still coiled. This can lead to
overheating.
 Ensure that the mains cable/extension cable is undamaged
and does not run underneath the appliance or over any hot
surfaces or sharp edges.
 Lay the mains cable/extension cable so that nobody is able to
step on it or trip over it.
 Ensure that the appliance is switched off before plugging it in.

3.2. Safety instructions for operation

 Protect the appliance from moisture. Do not use the
appliance in the rain or in extreme moisture. Do not cut damp
or wet grass.
 Always wear the safety equipment described in the operating
instructions as well as tight-fitting clothing, sturdy shoes and
long trousers when using the appliance.
 Before starting work, check the site for any foreign objects or
animals and remove any items that could be thrown up and/
or damage the cutting mechanism.
 Always stand behind the handle to guide the appliance.
 Do not tip the appliance when it is switched on unless this
is absolutely necessary. In this event, tip the appliance no
further than necessary and only tip the part that is facing
away from the operator.
 Never pick up or carry the appliance while the motor is
running.
