10.2. ELS with 3-zone heating control

The ELS Frontloader can optionally be equipped with 3 heating zones.
A heating zone is an area in which the control system regulates the heating temperature according to the
running firing program. The actual firing chamber temperature is recorded by a separate thermocouple for each
heating zone.
If the ELS Frontloader is equipped with 3 heating zones, the zone control of the kiln control automatically regulates the
zone heating behaviour of the kiln according to the setpoint curve. This achieves an optimal temperature distribution.

10.3. Automatic supply air flap

NOTE
The introduction of cooling air using a fan or similar at firing chamber temperatures of 600°C
and above can damage the insulating material and the heating elements.
If the insulation material is damaged in the event of non-observance of the above-mentioned
information, the manufacturer assumes no liability for this.
The kiln can optionally be equipped with an automatic supply air flap. It is opened and closed by an electric
servomotor. The supply air flap servomotor is located on the underside of the kiln.
Figure 23: Automatic supply air flap
Manual interlocking and unlocking of the supply air flap servomotor (e.g., in the event of a power failure):
If the supply air flap servomotor has been properly unlocked, the supply air flap can be opened or closed
manually.
The servomotor must be interlocked again so that the supply air flap servomotor can be controlled via the
control unit once more.
Cold air may only be brought in at a temperature below 600°C.
When operating a cooling fan, the exhaust air opening must be open.
The automatic supply air flap is operated and controlled via the control
unit.
To do this, the appropriate event function in the particular kiln control
system must be selected.
You must read the relevant instruction manual for the control system
carefully!
Optionally, a fan for introducing cooling air can be connected upstream
from the automatic supply air flap.
