OPERATING THE APPLIANCE
Button(s)
Description
Select with the button "TUNING MODE" (2)(20) at the front side of the
device or on remote control of the three possible settings
(Function of the button "TUNING MODE") "AUTOSCAN". In the display,
TUNING
„AUTO" can be seen, if the automatic search is selected.
MODE
The selected frequency band will be searched for up or down automatical-
(2)(20)
ly in this mode by activating the "TUNING PRESET UP/DOWN" (24) on
the remote control (automatic frequency search); the tuner stops at the next
TUNING
frequency with sufficiently strong signal reception. Then the "TUN" can be
PRESET
seen in the display. In the display, "ST" can be seen if the sender is recei-
UP/DOWN
ved in the stereo. If the abbreviation "ST" cannot be seen, the tuner dis-
(6/8)(24)
plays a Mono-Signal or is not configured to any sender. The sender-
search can also stopped by pressing the "UP" or "DOWN" once again. In
the display, the text "RDS" appears, if the sender offers RDS-services.
You are able to store up to 30 radio frequencies for each of the frequency
bands (FM, AM) and select them using their positions in the memory. If sta-
tions have already been stored, one of them can now be selected by ente-
ring the position in the memory with the numerical keys. If a single digit sta-
tion number (1-9) needs to be selected, it can be entered by pressing a
corresponding button. In case of a two-digit station number, the button "0"
TUNING
should be pressed as many times as the corresponding tens. If the second
PRESET
digit of the station number is zero, then no additional keystroke is needed.
UP/DOWN
If the second digit is a number between 1-9, then the units should be ente-
(6/8)(24)
red with the corresponding buttons 1-9. Example: For station number 22,
"0" is pressed twice, and after that "2" is pressed once. To search through
all the stations stored, the "TUNING MODE" (6/8) button can be used to
select the option "PRESET" (search through all stations stored). Using the
buttons "TUNING PRESET" it is now possible to go through all the positi-
ons already stored.
To store a new preset in memory, select the radio frequency as already descri-
bed. Then press "MEMORY" followed by a two-digit number from the numeri-
cal keypad to set the required position (1 to 30). The setting only becomes
effective by pressing "MEMORY" again. The station number in such a case is
MEMORY
entered in the following way: If a single digit station number (1-9) needs to be
(22)
selected, it can be entered by a corresponding keystroke. With two digit stati-
on number, the button "0" should be pressed as many times as the correspon-
ding tens. If the second digit of the station number is zero, then no additional
Number keys
(21)
keystroke is needed. If the second digit is a number between 1-9, then the
units should be entered with the corresponding buttons 1-9. Example: For stati-
on number 22, "0" is pressed twice, and after that "2" is pressed once. 30
station presets are available for each of the frequency bands (AM and FM),
respectively.
A volume mute function during manual frequency search ("AUTOSCAN"
AUTO MUTE
tuning mode is active) can be switched on and off with this button. It cuts
out interference between the station frequencies. This function is only availa-
(18)
ble using the remote control.
