Air filter

If the engine is operated without an air filter or a damaged air filter, dirt can get into the engine,
causing rapid wear.
•
Press the cover tabs down and remove the cover.
•
Remove the filter from the air filter base.
•
Check the filter and foam elements and replace them if damaged.
•
Clean the filter by tapping it several times on a hard surface to remove dirt or blow compressed
air through the air filter from the inside. Never try to brush off the dirt; brushing will push the
dirt into the fibres.
•
Wipe the dirt off the inside of the air filter housing and cover it with a damp cloth. Ensure no
dirt gets into the air duct leading to the carburettor.
•
Replace the filter and the cover.
