INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before each use, the accessories should be carefully checked so as to make sure that there is no
dust, deposits, lumps or liquid substances inside the connection tubes, the collection jar and the
relevant lid. Accurately clean, disinfect or sterilise these parts strictly following the instructions for
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION.
1. Operation with internal battery:
1.1. The battery supplied with the appliance is partly charged; it should be recharged before use. For
recharging follow the instructions under 2.3.1.
1.2. Operate the unit by turning the switch on (3); the green led "PUMP ON" (6A) will turn on. Do not
forget that the autonomy with fully charged batteries is approx. 30 minutes.
1.3. After using the appliance, always shift the switch (3) to 0 (OFF) even when the batteries are low. If
the red indicator light "LOW BATTERY" (6B) turns on during use, the appliance has exhausted its
autonomy of operation. Turn the appliance off immediately and recharge.
2. Operation and recharging through car cigarette-lighter cord (12V DC) or multivoltage power unit:
2.1. Cigarette-lighter cord (12V DC)
2.1.1. Connect the external socket (2) of the appliance to the cigarette-lighter socket by means of
the cigarette-lighter cord.
Check the car or boat battery charge level before using the cigarette-lighter cord.
2.1.2. Operate the unit by turning the switch on (3); the green led "PUMP ON" (6A) and the green
led "EXT. POWER" (6D) turn on to confirm operation. Bear in mind that the appliance is
intended for intermittent use 30 min ON/30 min OFF.
2.2. Multivoltage power supply unit (switching)
2.2.1. Connect the power lead plug to the external socket (2) of the appliance. If the power lead
plug is different from the electrical outlet, contact your nearest dealer or authorized service
centre.
2.2.2. Follow the instructions under 2.1.2
2.3. Internal battery recharge through car cigarette-lighter cord or multivoltage power unit:
Check the car or boat battery charge level before using the cigarette-lighter cord.
2.3.1. The batteries are charged by leaving either the cigarette-lighter cord or the multivoltage power
supply unit connected to the external socket (2) of the appliance. The green led "EXT. POWER"
(6D) and the yellow led "CHARGING" (6C) turn on to confirm operation.
For first time use recharge the appliance for 24 hours; later on 8 to 12 hours are sufficient
according to the battery charge left. If required, the appliance can be used before the charging
is finished provided that, once the application is completed, the recharging operation is
continued.
3. Instructions for tracheotomy patients:
3.1. Connect the accessories as shown in the drawing on page 2.
3.2. Turn on the appliance following the relevant operating instructions. Always operate the unit on a
flat surface; this will allow the correct operation of the float shut-off thus preventing entrance of
liquid in the suction pump.
3.3. The desired level of vacuum (bar) can be set by using the vacuum regulation knob (4). A higher
vacuum level is obtained by turning the knob clockwise; a lower vacuum level is obtained by turning
the knob counter-clockwise. These values can be read on the vacuum gauge (5). In order to make
suction faster and cleaning operations simpler, fill the jar (16) with approximately 400 ml of water.
3.4. Put your finger on the hole of the manual suction regulator (17) and start the treatment by making
alternate upward and downward movements on the hole with your finger.
3.5. When the treatment is finished, turn off the unit.
