Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the
appliance into operation and keep the instructions including
the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the
internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people,
please also pass on the operating instructions.
• The appliance is intended exclusively for private and not
for commercial use.
• Do not apply pressure or drop the appliance, as the
sensitive electronic circuit could be damaged.
• Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
• Do not repair the appliance yourself, but rather consult
an authorised expert.
• Use the appliance only for the intended purpose.
• The kitchen scale is designed for a maximum weight of
5 kg.
• Protect this measuring appliance against direct sunlight,
high temperatures, humidity and dust.
• Children should be supervised at all times in order to
ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all
packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of
their reach.
WARNING:
Do not allow small children to play with the plastic foil.
There is a danger of suffocation!
Handling Batteries
• Observe polarity (+ / −)!
• Keep away from children!
Batteries can be swallowed, which can be life-threaten-
ing. If a battery has been swallowed, medical assistance
must be sought immediately.
• Do not disassemble batteries!
• Do not short-circuit batteries!
Avoid contact with metal objects (rings, nails, screws,
etc.). Batteries can become very hot or even ignite in the
event of a short circuit. This can result in burns.
• Danger of explosion!
Do not expose batteries to intense heat, such as sun-
shine, fire or similar.
• Batteries can leak battery acid. If the appliance will not
be used for a longer period of time, remove the batteries.
• If a battery leaks, do not rub the liquid into the eyes or
mucous membranes. In case of contact, wash hands,
rinse eyes with clean water. Seek medical attention if any
discomfort persists.
• Different battery types and new and used batteries must
not be used together.
• Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the appliance
and safely disposed of. Batteries are not to be disposed of
together with domestic wastes. Return used batteries to
the responsible collection points or to the dealer.
Unpacking the Appliance
1. Remove the appliance from its packaging.
2. Remove all packaging material, such as foils, filling
material, cable ties and cardboard packaging.
3. Check the appliance for possible transport damage to
avoid hazards. Do not operate a damaged appliance.
Return it to the dealer immediately.
Inserting the Batteries
(Batteries not included)
1. Open the battery compartment on the underside.
2. Insert 2 batteries of type CR 2032. Please ensure that
the polarity is correct (see the floor of the battery com-
partment)!
3. Close the battery compartment again.
NOTE:
If " " appears in the display, then the batteries must be
replaced at once.
