Setting up
• Your machine is ready to use when removed from the
box. Retain the packaging in case you need to return the
machine for repair.
• The punching mechanism is coated with a protective
film of lubricant, which will mark your paper. Clear this
by punching scrap sheets of paper until clean prior to
binding.
Comb binding instructions
Each step relates to the illustrations at the front of this
manual.
1. Set the paper size
Ensure the punch handle is in the upright position

before centering the paper (fig. A - CB20/CB25 only).
Load the first paper stack into the comb punch slot (4).

Adjusting your machine for A5:
Adjust the machine by sliding the paper edge guide (5)

located next to the punch slot from A4 to A5 (fig. B).
2. Punch paper
CB20/CB25 – Lower the raised handle until the paper is
punched, and support the machine when lifting the handle
to the upright position (fig. C).
CB25E – Press the 'punching' button (7) once (fig. C).
3. Comb binding
Place the plastic comb open side up on the comb

opening teeth (3) (fig. D).
To open the comb, turn the comb opening handle (2)

(fig. E).
Load each paper stack onto the opened comb until the

entire document is loaded (fig. F).
To close the comb, rewind the comb opening handle

and lift the bound document from the metal teeth (fig.
G).
Binding tips:
• Load the rear cover onto the open comb first, followed by
the internal sheets and front cover.
• To edit your document, additional sheets may be included
or removed by placing your document (comb open side
up) onto the metal teeth and following step 3 instructions
again.

Maintenance
Please ensure the clippings tray is emptied on a regular
basis (fig. H). This may prevent your machine from
overloading.

WARNING: Do not attempt to service or repair the
punch. Failure to observe this warning could result in
severe personal injury or death.
Disconnect the plug from the socket outlet and contact
GBC Technical Service when one or more of the following
has occurred.
• The power supply cord or attachment plug is damaged.
• Liquid has been spilled into the punch.
• The punch is malfunctioning after being mishandled.
• The punch does not operate as described in these
instructions.
