40°C).
AIR FILTER CLEANING
A dirty air filter will restrict airflow to the carburetor, reducing engine
performance. If you operate the pump in very dusty areas, clean the air
filter more frequently than specified in the MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
(see page 23).
1.Clean the air filter in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry it thoroughly. Or
clean it in a nonflammable solvent and dry it thoroughly.
2.Dip the air filter in clean engine oil, and then squeeze out all excess oil.
The engine will smoke when started if too much oil is left in the foam.
3.Wipe dirt from the air cleaner base and cover using a moist rag. Be
careful to prevent dirt from entering the air duct that leads to the carburetor.
SPARK PLUG SERVICE
Recommended spark plug: F7RTC or other equivalents.
Incorrect spark plugs can cause engine damage.
1.Disconnect the spark plug cap, and remove any dirt from around the
spark plug area.
2.Remove the spark plug with a spark plug wrench.
3.Inspect the spark plug. Replace it if the electrodes are worn or if the
insulator is cracked or chipped.
