2 Safety Notes

The units (recorder and power supply unit) correspond
to all required directives of the EU and are therefore
marked with
. The recorder and the car adapter ad-
ditionally correspond to the directive for automobiles.
WARNING The power supply unit is supplied with
hazardous mains voltage (230 V~).
Leave servicing to skilled personnel
only. Inexpert handling or modification
of the unit may cause an electric shock
hazard.
It is essential to observe the following items:
The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect
them against dripping water and splash water, high
air humidity, and heat (admissible ambient tempera-
ture range -10 to +55 °C).
Do not set the recorder into operation, or immedi-
ately disconnect the power supply unit from the
mains socket if
1. there is visible damage to the units,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. malfunctions occur.
The units must in any case be repaired by skilled
personnel.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never chemi-
cals or water.
No guarantee claims for the units and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the units are used for other pur-
poses than originally intended, if they are not cor-
rectly connected, operated, or not repaired in an
expert way. Likewise no liability will be accepted for
data loss caused by operating errors or by a defect
and its consequential damage.
If the units are to be put out of operation de-
finitively, take them to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.

3 Applications

The DMR-123LCD is a video recorder which is especial-
ly designed for mobile video surveillance. Equipped
with a colour display and a speaker for checking the
recording, it can be operated with the supplied power
supply unit, the car adapter, or the integrated re-
chargeable lithium ion battery. The use of SD memory
cards as a storage medium makes the recorder insen-
sitive to vibrations and allows an easy data exchange
(e. g. with computers for saving or processing the
recordings).
The recorder has two A/V inputs, which also supply
a 12 V voltage for the cameras, and an A/V output for
the connection of a monitor (as an alternative to the
individual LCD). For recording, the desired input is re-
spectively selected as a signal source.
All functions of the recorder can also be controlled
via the supplied infrared remote control. Additionally,
there is the possibility to make a recording as an indi-
vidual picture or short video sequence with the func-
tion "Capture" by the remote release.
The integrated motion detection allows to limit the
recording to the moments when movements occur in
the picture.

4 Connection

4.1 A/V sources, monitor

1) Connect the cameras or other A/V sources to the
jacks VIDEO 1 (17) and VIDEO 2 (22) via the sup-
plied adapter:
Plug yellow:

Plug red:
camera supply 12 V , max.
150 mA
Note: The supply voltage is only present at the
connection that is selected as a source [selector
button
(2)].
2) Connect a monitor which is to be operated as an
alternative to the LCD to the jack V/A OUT (19) via
the supplied adapter:
