6. Mount the LA-AES3 board as follows:
a. Turn the board upside down with XLR sockets towards the chassis and connect both ribbon cables to the DSP
board (small one first).
While connecting the small cable:
 Maintain the board near the connector so as to prevent it from bending.
 Ensure that all pins on the board are facing the holes on the connector.
CAUTION
b. Put the board in place in the controller by aligning both holes with spacers and slightly screw in 2 Phillips
screws (PH.1). Note: Ensure that the unlocking latch of the female XLR socket has been placed outside.
c. Place the external plate and firmly screw in 1 Phillips
chassis (side holes). Note: Some models feature 2 inner holes and need 1 more screw.
d. Firmly screw in both Phillips

7. Put the controller's back cover in place and screw in the 12 Torx

FIRMWARE update

1. After having mounted the LA-AES3 board into the amplified controller, download the LA4 or LA8 FIRMWARE
Pack [3.4].
2. Update firmware by following the instructions provided in the LA4-8 FIRMWARE UPDATE Technical bulletin
included in the pack. Note: AES/EBU functionalities have been developed from FIRMWARE 1.4.1.23.
3. Verify that the three AES/EBU control pages are available in the INPUT SETTINGS menu (Figure 14) and that it
is possible to select the AES/EBU input mode (Figure 15).
