Floor stripping method:
1. Remove all weights from the stripper, see Fitting weights on page
2. Select and install a blade suited to the type of covering, see Selecting and fitting blades on
page
3. Using a knife, cut a strip about 35 cm wide starting at the door threshold and remove the
covering with a scraper over a distance of about ten centimetres or so.
4. Place the machine with its blade in the free area thus created
5. Start the machine by pressing the start button (1), and set it moving forwards by pressing the
red handle (3)
6. The first strip to be removed requires an enormous effort by the machine. If it skids, help it
by pressing down with your foot on the bar at the bottom of the handle to enable it to regain
traction. It is pointless pushing the machine by the top of the handle as this causes it to
lose traction and is therefore counter-productive.
7. Remove several metres observing the behaviour of the machine. If the machine skids, add
weights at the back, if the blade tends to ride over the covering, add weights at the front (see
section on fitting weights). If stripping takes place without undue skidding, it is preferable
not to use the weights as this will make the machine easier to handle and the stripping
operation less tiring for the operator
8. The other strips will be narrower (from 20 to 25 cm approximately) and will therefore be
much easier to remove. Strips must always be removed in the same direction. Removing
wider strips does not save time as the machine will find it more difficult to work and will
move more slowly. In addition, handling it will require greater physical effort.
9. The blades sharpen themselves in contact with the substrate. However, it is recommended to
check their condition before each use. This is why the blade must be changed if it is twisted
or worn excessively.
10. The driving wheels - particularly when working hard - are subject to considerable wear. When
the tyres are worn excessively, they must be changed as the effect is to reduce speed and the
angle of the blade: efficiency reduces with wear on the wheels (see section on replacing the
driving wheels on page
Note: if covering accumulates around the wheels, always disconnect the machine before carrying
out any cleaning operations.
