Troubleshooting

20. Troubleshooting
Malfunctions can sometimes occur for quite simple reasons but they
may also be caused by defective components. We have included a brief
troubleshooting guide below which may help to solve any problems. If these
tips don't solve the problem then we'll be more than pleased to help you out.

20.1. Troubleshooting

General advice

The product cannot be switched on.
Plug the mains adapter into the power socket, ensuring that it is firmly
connected.
Check the mains switch on the rear.
Plug the mains adapter into a different socket.
No picture.
Select the correct video input mode on the display unit to display the
Lifesmart TV picture.
Connect video cable, ensuring that it is firmly connected.
Restart the TV set and the Lifesmart TV after connecting the cable.
Distorted picture.
The file being played was recorded in a different colour-encoding system
from that of the display unit.
Select a resolution compatible with the display unit.
Connect the units with new cables.
No sound.
The product is in mute mode.
Connect audio cable, ensuring that it is firmly connected.
An incorrect setting was selected for the input source in the menu
TV Mode Setup [SPDIF Mode] for the amplifier or the amplifier
connection.
The remote control is not working properly.
The remote control is too far from the product.
There is something blocking the path between the remote control and
the product.
The battery in the remote control is low.
Reconnect the remote control (see Page 81).
