10.4 The types of modulation
TTL:
Only allows to turn each color on or off. So no gradients are possible!
You can have up to 7 colors are (red, green, blue, yellow, purple,
turquoise and white)
Analog:
Gradients are possible with 255 levels per color. So there are 16 million
possibilities! It also allows you to manage security zones, which is
especially useful if you plan to do a show with an audience and want to
adjust the color balance to get a perfect white!

10.5 Galvanometers

Lasers equiped with a step motor as galvo are not recommended!
They are very slow and will not allow you any complicated effects. They can also
be identified by their speed of 5kpps.
Their speed, which is given in kpps or pps (points per second):
Points per second = number of points that the galvanometer can
reach every second. The higher the number, the more you can go
for complicated graphics. This speed varies from 10.000pps to
60.000pps!
Their angle:
This is the opening of the galvanometer, which determines the
opening angle of the laser. Normally the opening is directly related to
the speed.
Remark: The minimum recomend for graphic shows is 15°. It's 25° for beam
shows. Some galvos such as DT40W can go up to 90°!
It is therefore necessary that those two are linked. It is best to check at the rated
speed at a standart opening of 25°. For example : having 50Kpps at 4° won't
work properly.
The choice of galvos is determined to what your laser will be able to do.
